Therapists for college students near 19104
College is a period of time of big transitions in a person's life. My hope is that therapy can provide you a place to improve emotional distress, heal from past wounds, and increase fulfillment in your life. I believe taking a collaborative approach to therapy as you are the expert of your own situation. As a trauma-informed therapist I believed it is essential to create a safe therapeutic environment. The focus of therapy is on your strengths and to build on your resiliency. I look forward to you reaching out so we can start this process. I think you will find my approach warm, nonjudgmental, and easy-going.
It takes courage and strength to share your personal struggles with a therapist. My goal is to help assist you in your journey of discovering ways to cope and manage your mental health with respect, kindness, and warmth. There is something truly incredible about a human being living their authentic and complete truth without feeling burdened by mental or emotional blocks. My specialty lies in the treatment of OCD, Anxiety disorders, Depression, & Trauma. I am intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP), Prolonged Exposure (PE), & Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR). I also provide supervision to other clinicians. I am licensed in NY, CT, NJ, & PA to provide virtual therapy. Reach out to me to form a relationship based on trust, mutual respect, & understanding. I know it can feel difficult to take the first step, and it will be so worth it.
As a relational, attachment-based therapist, I believe that the therapeutic relationship is a powerful vehicle for change. As a systemic therapist, I also believe that the systems you’re part of matter, and that your experience can’t be understood outside of those systems. You may have had the experience of “getting” something on a logical level, yet finding that knowledge to be inadequate or insufficient. I believe real change has to be felt, not just rationalized. So I focus on creating a relationship where it’s safe to take relational risks and have new experiences that create change on a deeper level. Within the relationship, the work can take many forms. We may start by looking into your past, as I believe the past is important in understanding the present, and that it’s useful for helping you understand your attachment style and relational patterns. And if you’re one of the many neurodivergent people who have experienced trauma, we can draw on Internal Family Systems/parts work and Emotion-Focused Therapy to help heal your younger self. My goal is to always meet you where you are, and sometimes that might mean taking a more practical, skills-based approach. This could mean developing strategies to manage overwhelm, big emotions, and struggles with organization, time-blindness and prioritization. For example, you may be feeling like you know what you need to do yet still can’t get it done. Here I also draw on my background as an ADHD coach, and use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Internal Family Systems to help you understand the emotions that may be getting in your way, see the different parts that create internal conflicts for you, and change how you relate to these parts.
In today's world, it can be extremely challenging to feel truly and simply happy. Many are struggling to develop a sense of identity, and may experience a lack of boundaries, people-pleasing tendencies, and confusion about their own wants and needs. The pressure can feel overwhelming, leading us to struggle with anxiety, loneliness, life transitions, and our relationships. But it doesn't need to be this way; Change is possible. If this resonates with you as you seek to find support, you’re in exactly the right place and I’m so glad you’re here. I believe that connection is the basis of healing so I prioritize creating a safe and nurturing therapeutic space, where we work together to heal your relationship with others and, most importantly, with yourself. Through my extensive experience working with adolescents and young adults, I aim to tailor therapy to your unique needs. I am trained in various therapeutic approaches, so we can work together to figure out the best type of therapy for you. My priority is to help you grow holistically into the most authentic and connected version of yourself. I became a therapist because I believe in the potential of every person to grow, change, and achieve a true sense of connection and contentment. Taking this step can be intimidating, but you aren’t doing it alone. Let’s work together to uncover your hidden strengths, ultimately empowering you to create the fulfilling life you deserve. I’m here to listen and support you as you grow into the best version of yourself, and I will be walking alongside you every step of the way.
Hey, I’m Laura Fidorowicz. I work with college students who are used to holding it all together—but underneath are dealing with anxiety, burnout, depression, or using substances more than they’d like to cope. A lot of the people I work with are high-achieving and hard on themselves. You might look like you’ve got everything handled, but inside it feels like constant pressure, overthinking, or never quite feeling “good enough.” Maybe you’ve started relying on alcohol or other substances to take the edge off, check out, or just get through the week. My style is real, collaborative, and practical. I’m not here to judge you or lecture you—and I’m definitely not just going to sit quietly while you talk. We’ll actually dig into what’s going on and build tools you can use in real life, whether that’s managing anxiety, breaking perfectionism cycles, or changing your relationship with substances. You don’t have to wait until things fall apart to get support. If something feels off, that’s enough. If you’re ready for a space where you can be honest, feel understood, and start making real changes, I’d love to work with you.

Together, we can learn how to navigate distressing thoughts and emotions, while creating momentum that leads towards a life that feels valuable and meaningful to you. It is important to me to create a safe environment and ensure that the process is collaborative. I believe that therapy is more than just listening and nodding. Hi, I'm Jennifer. I help my clients feel like themselves again after trauma, specifically sexual trauma or relationship violence. You’ve tried to get past it, forget about it, told yourself it “wasn’t a big deal”, but you’re in pain. Maybe you notice feeling scared and mistrusting of others, having mood swings, or feeling down about yourself. Trauma can take many different forms, so often we don’t realize what we’ve gone through until we unpack it with someone safe. I can be that person for you.
The Counseling Corner is a group of dedicated clinicians who take pride in providing quality mental health care. As a mental health practice, we assist members by providing therapy to a wide array of people who are in pursuit of happiness. Our team is comprised of exceptional clinicians with a variety of specialties to ensure we give you the best support possible. From our founder: I wanted to take a moment to share something deeply personal and meaningful to me. At 23, I faced an unimaginable loss when I lost my mother to alcohol addiction. It was a painful journey that led me to struggle with my own mental health for nearly a decade. During that time, I often searched for a purpose and a way to turn my pain into something positive. Today, I’m proud to announce that I’ve opened this mental health practice. We are building a team of incredible clinicians, each of whom shares a commitment to help others navigate difficult times and find hope and healing. Our goal is to create a safe space where people can feel understood, supported, and empowered on their journey to wellness. We’re here to save lives and help individuals reclaim their strength. If you or someone you know is looking for support, please reach out. Thank you for allowing me to share this journey with you. I believe that having an objective person listen to your story opens the door for validation, reflection, and change. I believe my job as a counselor is to listen, notice patterns, and help you reach the goals you set for yourself. I use an eclectic blend of modalities to center the people I work with in their own narratives, and help them move forward in ways that benefit them the most. I also have a lot of experience working with athletes, as I was a coach for 10 years before becoming a counselor. Please visit my website to see more about my coaching experience and work with athletes on performance and wellness. I enjoy being a generalized clinician, as I focus a lot on validation, control, and purpose in my practice. I find this can help each person, no matter what they are facing, to find a more positive path forward.
As a psychologist, a father, a husband, a runner, a first Gulf War era Army officer and a former country manager of an American business in Russia, I bring a varied and eclectic style to my work. Trained in marital, family and child therapy, I have worked with clients from childhood into retirement and enjoy the diversity of seeing people at all stages of their lives and development. My goal is to maximize happiness and reduce anxiety and the impediments to truly enjoying your life. To do so, I am happy to see individuals, couples or families, and look forward to seeing you!
(Accepting new clients as of 6/1/26) - Classes, roommates, figuring out who you are, what you want to do with your life, and maybe even remembering to eat something green once in a while…it’s a full plate. Whether you’re anxious, burned out, or just trying to keep your head above syllabus week, we’ll figure it out together, one honest conversation at a time. I’ve been a therapist for almost a decade and a half and worked extensively with teens and young adults. If you’ve navigating depression, anxiety, relationships or identity, let’s talk. Our clinicians are trained in a variety of modalities. This allows us to tailor our approach to the needs of our clients. We all believe that the therapeutic relationship is paramount to the therapy experience and strive to provide a supportive environment to explore past experiences and address issues in the present.
My name is Sarah and I am a therapist, coach and community organizer. I specialize in working with activists, organizers and politically left gen individuals who struggle with burnout, overwhelm and balance. You may be struggling with self-doubt, fear about the future and compassion fatigue. I can help with that. I work with individuals who are navigating trauma associated with living under capitalism. During our first few sessions together, we will begin to bridge the gap between your pain and systematic structures that impact you deeply. You'll begin to experience yourself as part of a whole community, not just an individual. Therapy with me will be political, restorative, healing and empowering.
College is full of transitions, like moving away from home and support systems, navigating relationships while balancing academic stress, and entering the professional world after graduation. These transitions can be exciting, but also daunting and overwhelming! So whether you are just starting to explore ways to improve your mental wellbeing or have been struggling for many years, you don't have to navigate it alone. My approach to therapy is always rooted in empathy, compassion, and a genuine curiosity about your unique experiences. We will work together using evidence-based practices to strengthen coping skills for the symptoms you most wish to address. Once these symptoms feel more manageable, we can then identify treatment goals that are built around understanding the impact of your past experiences, current obstacles, and hopes for the future (even if you don't know what those are yet!). I have provided individual therapy for seven years, and am especially passionate about helping those with neurodivergence (whether formally diagnosed or not) make sense of historical struggles through a non-judgmental, self-compassionate lens. Everyone can benefit from having a safe and supportive space to tackle symptoms of depression, anxiety, trauma, life stressors, self-esteem issues, or any other mental health difficulties. I welcome an opportunity to speak with you about your therapy goals and to see if we are a good fit, so please reach out to me via email, or phone (texts are okay too)!
Many of the students I work with are used to functioning well despite feeling anxious, depressed, overwhelmed, or emotionally worn down. Some are struggling with trauma, difficult family relationships, or recurring patterns in their relationships that they don't fully understand. Others are trying to manage ADHD while balancing school, work, research, or family responsibilities. I'm also interested in working with students who are trying to make sense of themselves in the context of the world around them. That might include questions about identity, culture, community, or the emotional impact of social and political events. If you're someone who feels deeply affected by what's happening around you, therapy can be a place to think through those experiences rather than carrying them by yourself. My approach is collaborative and guided by curiosity. I don't assume there are quick answers or a single right way to do therapy. Sometimes our work is about understanding the patterns that keep repeating in your life. Other times it's about dealing with whatever is most pressing right now. Most of the time, it's both.

“Of course it is exhausting, having to reason all the time in a universe which wasn't meant to be reasonable.” ― Kurt Vonnegut, Breakfast of Champions Hello! Thank you for taking some time to get to know me. As a social worker and therapist, I'm passionate about helping individuals find their path to well-being. My approach is grounded in a belief that each person is the expert in their own needs and abilities, and it is my role to provide the support needed to apply that knowledge. I have several years of therapy experience with adults and children, in addition to more than a decade working with children and families in other capacities. I’ve worked with clients from diverse backgrounds, facing a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, and relationship and family issues. I'm committed to creating a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors without judgment.
