You might be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or unsure about who you’re becoming. Maybe you’re juggling school, relationships, or life between cultures—and it’s starting to feel like too much. I specialize in working with college students and young adults navigating anxiety, self-doubt, cultural adjustment, and identity exploration. As a bilingual (English–Mandarin) therapist, I understand how cultural roots and personal growth can sometimes pull us in different directions—and how lonely that can feel. My approach combines Existential Analysis with evidence-based therapies such as ACT, CBT, and DBT. I meet you with curiosity and compassion, helping you build emotional clarity, self-trust, and balance. Together, we explore the patterns that shape your story and nurture the parts of you ready to grow. You don’t need to have everything figured out to start therapy. We’ll take it one step at a time, in a space that’s thoughtful, collaborative, and fully yours.
My name is Faithlynn Morris and I'm a licensed clinical psychologist. I use a warm, curious approach to support the folks who I work with in setting and meeting their goals. Let me tell you a little bit more about me. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over twenty years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. I have always loved helping others. My passion for working with people in their 20s and 30s stems from years of working with children and adolescents in schools. I’ve helped students find their own path into adulthood and see my current work as a continuation of offering that guidance and support. Previous clients describe me as very kind, empathetic, non-judgmental, and caring. Counseling is in my blood, it's all I have ever done and I feel as passionate about it today as I did when I started.

I work with students who feel like life is moving too fast and expectations are piling up. Maybe you’re stressed about classes, friendships, or future plans, or just feeling unsure of yourself. Therapy is a place to slow down, be heard, and figure out what really matters to you. The people I work with often struggle with stress, self-doubt, or adjusting to big life changes. Together, we explore ways to handle pressure, build confidence, and find balance in your academic and personal life. Sessions are a safe, supportive space to explore your thoughts and feelings. You’ll leave with practical strategies and a clearer sense of your own goals and values, so you can navigate college life with more confidence and calm.
THE PATH TO HEALING IS NOT AN EASY ONE TO EMBARK ON. It can be scary; full of twists, turns, highs, and lows. I am here to walk with you as a fellow traveler, supporting your emotional healing and well-being with compassion and acceptance. AS A TRAINED DANCE/MOVEMENT PSYCHOTHERAPIST AND LICENSED CREATIVE ARTS THERAPIST, I utilize movement, mindfulness, breath work, and somatic practices to encompass the whole self in the therapeutic process. I strive to help individuals improve their quality of life through a trauma-informed, client-centered/strength-based approach, rooted in psychodynamic theory. I WILL SUPPORT YOUR EXPLORATION OF GAINING DEEPER INSIGHT into your experiences which can assist in developing and maintaining a healthier, stronger sense of self, as well as more meaningful relationships with others. AS A BLACK CIS-GENDERED WOMAN RAISED IN THE SOUTH, I am passionate about creating safe spaces for black, indigenous, people of color battling through generational trauma, systemic racism, grief/loss, and oppression. I believe that by bringing more awareness to the mind, body, and spirit connection we can learn from the past, honor the present, and embrace the future with renewed hope.
I am a New York State licensed psychologist with over a decade of experience. I work with adults of diverse backgrounds and my areas of special interest include difficult life transitions, relationship conflict, racial/cultural identity, and grief and loss. I offer online video therapy sessions (telehealth) exclusively, making therapy comfortable and accessible. Whether you are struggling with negative feelings toward yourself, dissatisfaction with relationships, your academic performance or are having difficulty letting go of the past, experiencing fear about the future, or simply feeling stuck in current circumstances, therapy can bring about needed change. To achieve this, our work together may involve finding meaning and purpose, establishing or recovering a connection to your inner emotional world and/or important people around you, processing and recovering from emotional wounds, be they old or recent, or formulating a concrete plan of action and working on it together step by step. My theoretical orientation is primarily psychodynamic and I integrate other approaches (i.e. DBT, CBT, etc.) as appropriate while always working from a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive lens. I am Zur Institute certified in teletherapy. I offer a free brief phone consultation prior to scheduling an initial appointment in order to clarify whether teletherapy with me would be a good fit. Hi! I am Dr. Monica Johnson. If you’re reading this, it means you are taking your mental and emotional health seriously and researching someone who will be a good fit for your journey. This is exciting! Let me tell you more about me to help you with your decision making process. I am a Licensed Psychologist in NYC, but some people think of me as a problem solving pro, empowerment guru, and self-compassion guide! I partner with my patients to find pathways to a better life. I work best with people who are tired of being stuck and ready to make changes. I can’t change you. Only you can do that, but I’m super excited to be your side kick on the journey and help you highlight roads to success. One of the most important things to know about me is that I am NOT a smile and nod type of therapist. I get down in the trenches with you. I’m down to earth and real with you through this process which means I will call you out on your BS and help you figure out what to do with it. We will work hard and laugh a lot. For the record, there is nothing off limits or shameful in therapy. I’ve seen it all and heard it all. If you need to talk about sex, money, medical issues, or “that one time in Amsterdam,” don’t hesitate! I work with people of all backgrounds (race, gender, sexuality, religion, alternative relationships) and you should expect that I will affirm your identity while helping you to develop a fuller self concept. My job is to help you tap into strengths you already possess (we all have them even if we can’t see them yet) and create new ones! If you are struggling with depression, anxiety, feel constantly overwhelmed by your emotions, past traumas, poor relationships, low self esteem, or just deciding what the next step is in your career/life, I can help.
With 8 years of experience working with undergraduate and graduate students, I've witnessed the tremendous pressure to "have it altogether" in this next generation of adults. The pattern I see is one where one's self-worth is contingent on performance, and the pursuit for perfection is at the cost of authenticity. It's why I focused my practice on working with adults early/mid in their career who would describe themselves as high-performing, ambitious, and even perfectionistic. I want to support you with building a more balanced and compassionate view of yourself so that you can continue doing what you love without sacrificing your values. My approach is interactive, feeling-forward, and collaborative. My goal is to create as much space as possible so that, for one hour a week, you can talk about how you're really feeling. The therapy process is hard work but I'll be there with you the entire way through. I can't wait to meet you.

I provide a safe space for people to sort out their most difficult life challenges and celebrate their prideful/joyous moments and accomplishments. Every individual is the expert on their experience, but at times can benefit from evidence based tools, skills and perceptions to aid in maximizing their potential to living a fulfilling, stress-reduced life. Together we will explore these experiences, where I will provide psychoeducation and evidence based interventions to facilitate growth and relief. I am skilled in Positive Psychology, CBT, REBT, DBT, Solution- Focused therapy, Existential Psychology and other evidence based practices.
Therapy is one's self-exploration journey that I would love to be a part of. As a mental health counselor, my aim is to build strong relationships with each of my clients and revel in their accomplishments. More importantly, I am focused on guiding my clients through their challenges and recovery process with a person-centered, humanistic approach. Individuals can expect to step into a safe and empathetic environment where I will work to understand potential triggers and build a treatment plan with the goal of releasing these mental burdens. By working together, I aim to empower individuals in their healing journey. It’s my goal to ensure that these individuals grow their self-confidence, self-love, and self-worth over time and learn how to have healthy. I particularly enjoy working with people to explore the best solutions to their emotional challenges and believe it is truly a collaborative effort to support individuals as they face the challenges of life and begin to construct healthier and authentic ways to experience the world.
