“I want to feel happier and less depressed.” “We would like to improve our relationship.” “I would like to feel calmer and more in control, in spite of the stress, loss and trauma I have experienced.” “We want to help our children cope with our divorce.” “We need to figure out how we are going to live as a divorced family.” These are some of the most frequent goals of my clients as we work together. Many of the stresses and conflicts my clients face can be due to life’s experiences and losses or can come from within. Stress and conflict can lead to disintegration of relationships with our partners and our children, and even in how we view ourselves. Strengthening coping skills, emotional connection and intimacy can help repair fractures, increase compassionate understanding, and build closeness. Focusing on positive growth, shifting well-engrained patterns, and building greater self-acceptance can create lasting change and happiness. As a clinical psychologist with over 40 years of experience, I help adults, couples and families, by integrating many different therapeutic approaches to best fit my clients’ needs.

Weaving through life can be so many things. It can be joyful, exciting, stressful, overwhelming, really whatever word we want to place to describe it. At some points in time it can be incredibly difficult. Everyone has their own unique experiences in life, struggles and obstacles are part of it. It can be overwhelming at times. Learning how to navigate through the more difficult times can be challenging but ultimately rewarding. My therapeutic approach is uniquely tailored to the client and collaborated with them based on their goals and experiences. Utilizing Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) we will explore your experiences and ignite change. Our work together will empower you to look within yourself, build acceptance, and better your relationship with yourself and with others. Therapy can be an uncomfortable and intimidating experience but it can also be very healing. I strive to make sure you feel accepted, heard, and validated in your experiences. When you are ready, give me a call to schedule our first session and we can embark on this journey together. If you see your insurance listed, please ask me to verify coverage when you arrange your first visit. Feel free to call or email me for a free 15 minute consultation

In examining our current state we can experience a mixture of emotions: fear, frustration, and a longing for something different. This is normal. However, sometimes these feelings can become more overwhelming than we would like, and they begin to affect us in different areas of our life such as work, family, and relationships. If you are struggling with anxiety or dealing with a major event in your life, I can help. You have choices when it comes to your career, relationships, and family. I will speak with you openly about your feelings and help you to gain new perspectives and solutions. I work closely with people facing various challenges, including how to deal with grief, a complicated relationship, family, academics, and societal problems. My approach to healing combines traditional therapies with holistic approaches, while drawing on the individual’s spiritual practices and developing new coping strategies.

PSYCHOTHERAPY SERVICES: Rebecca’s clinical focus is on helping adult female identified dancers develop healthy relationships with their bodies and food. She guides clients in reconnecting with their bodies, often using the process of “embodiment,” a multilayered awareness of your body and how you connect to or relate to the world around you. Through the holistic practices of mind- body awareness, Rebecca educates her clients on how their emotions may sometimes be reflected through physical symptoms, often called psychosomatic symptoms. Working with Rebecca, clients also receive guidance on eating in a self attuned way to manage disordered eating behaviors. She works from the Health at Every Size (HAES) perspective and helps clients understand the internal and external factors that contribute to disordered eating, body image issues and problems with self esteem. Dancers are always on display, whether taking recreational classes at the studio or at rehearsal and especially during performances. Outside of the dance world, there’s the everyday societal expectations of how our bodies should be. Rebecca is familiar with the unique challenges dancers face on and off stage. PERFORMANCE ENHANCEMENT COACHING FOR PERFORMING ARTISTS: Contact Rebecca for more information. With her background in Applied Sports and Performance Psychology, Rebecca offers individual and group coaching sessions to adult dancers.
