Therapists for college students near Indianapolis, IN
Hello, and thank you for looking at my profile. After working at Butler University's counseling center for the past 13 years, I recently transitioned to full time private practice. I love working with college students and hope to continue working with them in my new practice. I have a lot of experience with stress, anxiety, body image, substance abuse, depression, relationship problems, grief/loss, and the changing identities and developments that take place during the college years. I offer both in person and teletherapy and I am typically able to be flexible with scheduling. I'd love a chance to meet you to see if we would be a good fit!

Hi and welcome! You've taken a brave first step in reaching out for support. College students are my favorite people to work with. This journey is such a pivotal milestone in your development. Sure, it can be exciting, fun and full of amazing memories. Yet, navigating change and more responsibilities can be stressful. You don't have to do it alone. I have a warm, non-judgmental approach that allows me to listen and join you as you continue to learn and grow. You will come away with specific tools to help you cope.
I have been working with Young Adults for over 10 years dealing with transitions in and out of school as well as the family conflict that can arise around this time. I also work with those who are coming to understand their gender and sexuality and how to incorporate this new understanding into their lives and relationships to the degree that they are comfortable. I specialize in working on trauma that has lead to current mood issues as well using several modalities of treatment.
Do you identify as gender diverse (transgender, non-binary, gender queer, etc)? Are currently questioning or discovering your gender and/or needing a referral letter for medical transition steps? Jack Garner, LCSW is a licensed clinical therapist in the states of Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Illinois and is a member of WPATH. Their practice is offered online where they provide individual counseling and coaching as well as referral letters for medical transition steps, such as HRT and surgeries (Note, all WPATH referral letters are provided under the informed consent model - meaning NO gate-keeping practices and it takes just one session to obtain your letter). I identify as gender diverse (AFAB, Non-Binary, Transmasc), which allows me to have a unique understanding, both personal and professional, that is not often found in the therapy world. I am passionate about serving our community and understand what it is like to question your gender, experience dysphoria, and take medical transition steps. If you are looking for a therapist who truly understands you and has 'been there' themselves - I am here for you! I look forward to meeting you and will absolutely consider it my honor to assist you in discovering and/or furthering your path to authenticity, wholeness, and joy. Hi! Thank you for stopping by my profile. If you’re seeking relief and change in your relationships, you are in the right place! A lot of us experience relationships that we would say “bring out the worst in us”, which is a harsh reality but also a helpful warning sign that there may be some cracks in the foundation of your relationship. Maybe you’ve struggled with forgiving things that have happened in relationships that consequently leave you feeling stuck and guarded. Whether you have experienced this in a relationship or individually, beginning therapy can definitely help in sorting out the triggers that bring out character traits like doubt, defensiveness, withdraw, and criticism; however, my job is to also provide insight into ways in which you can bring out the best in others and yourself, too. As your therapist, I am committed to helping you live a life that recognizes disappointments while simultaneously empowering you with ways to continue growth through those disappointments or failed expectations. When I meet with couples and individuals, I prioritize connection and trust so that each client feels respected and understood. It’s important to me that my clients develop their own perceptions, values, and beliefs so that any change that occurs will a representation of their own personal growth. I understand that it can be a challenge to find time to fit therapy into your schedule as it is definitely a commitment both mentally and financially. To eliminate this barrier for my clients and provide the greatest ability for accommodation, all of my appointments are virtual using a secure HIPAA compliant platform. This allows me to connect with individuals and couples throughout the state of Indiana in a way that fits with their schedule and lifestyle. If you are interested in setting up an appointment, I would love to connect with you! Feel free to reach out to me via email or phone to ask any questions about my services, and I will get back to you within 24-48 hours. I look forward to working with you!
My ideal client is a person who is struggling with anxiety, depression, a life transition or who has trouble identifying feelings. They feel these difficulties hold them back from the life they want, and are brave enough to begin a journey of transformation. My primary approach is experiential in nature, which means I work in the here-and-now with you. My approach is also informed by psychodynamic therapy, which explores how the past impacts your present life. Feel free to learn more at ericbryanlmhc.com. Please reach out if you think we may be a good fit. I look forward to hearing from you.

Whether you decide to sit at a park, in your bedroom, or in a private space on campus such as a library study room, it's up to you. Wherever you choose to be during your sessions, know that you will receive the same professional support and assistance through online therapy as you would for in-person services.

The therapists at IPCI have a passion for working with clients to help them both cope better in the present as well as to explore, and work through, the underlying factors that fuel and perpetuate recurring problems like anxiety, depression, and relationship troubles. Many of our therapists have additional training in trauma work, including EMDR. Dr. Hanzlik is one of the few AASECT-Certified Sex Therapists in Indiana, and has trained other IPCI therapists to provide effective treatment and a specialization in helping patients work through sexual concerns. We also provide psychological evaluation to clarify diagnoses and provide recommendations for accommodations in academic settings.

Hey - I'm James! I look forward to getting to know you. I provide mental health therapy through secure video. I am in network with Anthem, Aetna, United Healthcare, and UMR. Schedule through my website to get a free consultation! Are you tired of waking up every morning wondering how you’re going to make it through another day? Do you get so anxious that it makes you physically sick? When you’re at your breaking point, you need someone on your side. As a mental health therapist for over 8 years, I see it as my privilege to take the time to understand what it's like to be you and to do my best to help you feel more in control of your life. I use scientifically supported techniques including cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, schema therapy, and solution-focused therapy. My specialities include working with adults who are going through hard life changes, family of origin issues, depression, anxiety, or who are just trying to figure out who they are. I really enjoy getting to know what makes my clients unique as people and then using this to help tackle whatever is sucking the fun out of life. One of the first things we can do in therapy is explore how you view the world and what the ingredients are to the problems bothering you. We'll make a plan together that feels right to you and is at the pace you need it to be. During each session, I want you to feel heard and cared about. My aim as your therapist is to support you in creating a more fulfilling life - a life you want to wake up to.
