Therapists for college students near Indianapolis, IN
While college presents many exciting opportunities, it can also be a challenging time in your life. Maybe you're feeling the weight of academic pressures, wrestling through new ideas and realizations about the world, or navigating social life in a new way - maybe a combination of all of the above! You don't have to navigate these experiences alone. I offer an environment that is both compassionate and empowering, to walk alongside you in your pursuit of growth and healing. I offer counseling in-office, through telehealth, and in outdoor-settings. If the traditional office setting isn't for you, we can meet while on a hiking trail or on a walking path. We'll work together to meet your needs, in helping you reach your goals through the use of evidence-based practices, such as mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy, and a trauma-informed, LGBTQ+ affirming, and trusting relationship.

We are a group of therapists who specialize in anxiety, teens, and sensitive people. EMDR trained, IFS, body-centered somatic psychotherapy. We specialize in teens, young adults and adults. We also have group therapy with an art focus.
I believe that one of the most healing aspects of therapy is the relationship between therapist and client which is one intended to be that of a traveling companion rather than an "expert"-"advice receiver" relationship. This is why I tend to pay special attention to the formation of that relationship in order to help others explore what matters to them and engage in those values in the face of mental health barriers. I have been able to work with individuals that find themselves struggling with lasting impacts of trauma, depression, anxiety, interpersonal concerns, and life transitions.

We are dedicated to making mental health support available to those who seek it through low barrier counseling services and mutual aids funds management. As a practice, we are dedicated to supporting members of our community in living rich, full, and meaningful lives, guided by what they value most and irregardless of socioeconomic background. We strive to practice cultural humility in our work, and to create a safe space that warmly supports those who are LGBTQI+, BIPOC and sexually diverse expressions of love. We work as a collective of therapists dedicated to the mission of our organization and support of one another, our clients and our community.
I am a pre-licensed therapist working toward licensure. I've spent over 500 hours with clients in my graduate program and am currently growing my own caseload at Maitri Counseling Collective. My work is anchored in compassion and curiosity and my goal is to support my clients as they get to know themselves better. I am experienced in working with family dynamics, ADHD, anxiety, depression, body image, and faith deconstruction.
As a former high school teacher, I have helped adolescents as they transition into adulthood. Now as a therapist, I enjoy working with individuals and couples through transitions of all kinds. I can help navigate the big life changes adolescents face, issues within family dynamics (family and marital issues), and issues that come with career changes and aging. I am an excellent resource for those suffering with anxiety, depression and BPD, especially those newly diagnosed with BPD. I am here to listen non-judgmentally and cheerlead you in your progress and growth while providing you skills and tools to get there. I use a skill-based approach to help clients learn and grow in their emotional wellness. I also incorporate a lot of mindfulness as clients learn to name and express their emotions. Finally, I love exploring spirituality (regardless of belief system) and incorporating this into treatment. Above all, I am here to listen. Sometimes we simply need someone who is in our corner and I hope to be that for you. I am queer-affirming and available to new clients, both in-person and virtually. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or to get scheduled.
Here’s a quick bit of information about my education, and areas of focus. I graduated from University of Louisville with Masters in Couple’s and Family Therapy, as well as Social Work. The majority of my training is in family systems therapy. In short, that means I believe all things function as a system and are interconnected. My approach to therapy is person centered, informal, and conversational. I believe it’s important to look at the whole picture, instead of solely placing the weight of the problem on one person. I also enjoy looking at Mind- Body- Spirit connection, which in my opinion tends to promote overall well-being. My focuses areas are: daily stressors, Depression, Anxiety, Life Adjustments, Relational concerns, etc. Some of the techniques I pull from frequently are: CBT,DBT, Distress Dis-tolerance( Mindfulness), IFS, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused, and motivational interviewing. Therapy is not a one size fit all. It’s important that the time you spend in session is designed for you. My work with you is tailored to you. My goal in session is to collaborate with you on your desired plan. I see myself as an assistant/ collaborator to helping you turn over the pieces in your life that need your attention. Therapy is the space and time where you are given the opportunity to be who you are. It is the space for you to be accepted and validate in a safe environment.
You feel anxious and it’s hard to shut your brain off. People tell you to relax, but it’s not that easy for you. You’ve worked hard to get where you are, but it’s hard to sit back and enjoy it. Your standards for yourself feel too high, and you question how long you can keep this up. You tend to doubt yourself and your abilities and look to other people to reassure you. It’s hard to take up space, feel confident, and speak your truth. You want to feel present in your life and like you’re able to love and appreciate yourself just as you are. You want to feel confident, courageous, and like you are able to advocate for yourself. You want to feel happy, calm, and at peace with your life, your relationships, and your career. I specialize in working with young adults with anxiety, people-pleasing tendencies, imposter syndrome, and perfectionism to build self-confidence and live a life they love. A better future is possible, and I'm here to help you create it. I can’t wait to hear from you, send me an email or call me to schedule a free phone consultation.

As a therapist rooted in a client-centered approach, I am committed to providing you with empathy, compassion, and a peaceful, supportive environment where you can safely explore your past traumas, and manage stress, anxiety, depression, and more. Together, we will work collaboratively to uncover and address underlying trauma, develop effective coping strategies, and build self-awareness. Have you experienced therapy in the past but maybe felt like the experience was too stuffy? Do you worry about judgement in the therapist’s office and find yourself filtering what you share? I know this reality is true for many people and my goal is to provide you with a new way of experiencing therapy. I have worked in all levels of care and I truly believe in a warm, holistic, and genuine approach to therapy. There is space for processing, crying, laughing, and anything else you need! I will utilize both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) throughout our work together to set a framework and present some level of psychoeducation. While the development of coping skills and understanding our thoughts and patterns to deal with distress and aid in emotion regulation will be important to our work together, my ultimate goal in therapy is to be flexible and holistic in my approach, working alongside you collaboratively to make powerful change towards the life that you envision. I honor that you are the expert of your own life, and as a therapist I am present to help process, empower, and seek joy. I understand college is one of the most stressful times in life, and having a trusted therapist to help during this transition can make the world of difference. I have been in your shoes and would love to be your partner in experiencing this difficult but rewarding and transformative time in life.
