You're more than just a client—and therapy is more than a place to vent. It’s a space for healing, growth, and transformation. I offer a warm, supportive, and empowering environment where you can safely explore who you are and where you're going. I’m a faith-affirming and culturally responsive therapist with over ten years of experience working with adults, teens, and families. My approach integrates evidence-based therapies like CBT, ACT, and Solution-Focused Therapy with attention to spiritual well-being, generational healing, and identity development. Whether you're facing anxiety, depression, trauma, or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, I’m here to help you move from surviving to thriving. Together, we’ll work toward peace, clarity, and lasting change.

Depression, anxiety, addictions, and relationship struggles have all become commonplace in our culture. Are you struggling to find peace and joy? Have your choices or the choices of others left you feeling broken? Are you searching for hope amidst seemingly hopeless circumstances? "Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life." Proverbs 13:12 Faithful Counsel is a group of like-minded, Christian mental health counselors (independently contracted) who desire to see hearts healed through counseling with truth in love. If you have a measure of faith, Faithful Counsel hopes to exhort and encourage you to grow stronger in it. If you are experiencing doubt, aren't sure what you believe, or even consider yourself agnostic or atheist, we would still encourage you to explore the possibility of a loving Creator. God makes many promises to His people, if there's even a remote chance that those promises are true, aren't they worth genuine exploration?

Maybe what aches most is not the change itself, but the fear that someone you love is slipping out of reach — even if that someone is you. Everything feels different, yet somehow the same. One minute you are putting on pajamas, and the next you are spiraling because it is the first moment of quiet you have had all day. There is this gut feeling that your heart can no longer be bound with band-aids, but soul-searching is a lot before the alarm goes off tomorrow. You do not have to make sense of it all alone at midnight — that is what I am here for. I support clients ages 13–30s through this season of becoming — identity, relationships, independence, pressure, purpose, and transition. With evidence-based care and expressive arts, we use guided reflection, practical strategies, and creative exploration to turn overwhelm into clarity, awaken new direction, and find the light at the end of the tunnel. There is no perfect place to begin. Arrive as you are! I offer virtual therapy sessions for clients located in California, Indiana, New Jersey, and Massachusetts. I am available for a free 15-minute phone consultation, and I invite you to reach out. I look forward to connecting.

I specialize in individual therapy with young adults. I use a solution-focused approach which means that we will be spending less time talking about the history of problems that may be present in your life, and more time building solutions for the present and future. I am warm, open, and friendly and I genuinely love working with people. I have a deep respect for each person's ability to bring about desired change. I will listen to your therapy goals, build a trusting relationship with you, and ultimately help you progress toward greater happiness and health. Nobody comes to therapy without having tried some other things first. So, you already know a bit about what works for you and what doesn’t. And you know what you want your life to be like. Once we can shift our focus from “problems” and “past” to “solutions” and “future," all things are possible. I invite YOU to be my teacher. Teach me about your life, your goals, what works and doesn’t work for you. Teach me about your struggles, your fears, your hopes, and your successes. I will listen and absorb what you what you tell me. I will seek to understand. I will make connections and ponder and apply that new information.

CO-HELP OVER SELF-HELP!! Are you struggling with issues related to trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship issues, parenting concerns, or major life changes? There comes a time when we need some help from a certified professional to help cope with many of life’s challenges. I’d love to help you on your journey toward healing and self-discovery. Life can be overwhelming and sometimes even exhausting, but I’m here to guide you through any obstacles you may face. My name is Dr. Christy Sutton, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC). I earned my Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University in 2015, a CACREP-accredited program, and have since completed my Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision. I believe that every person has the capacity for growth, healing, and resilience. My counseling approach is grounded in a client-centered philosophy and integrates evidence-based practices tailored to each individual's unique needs, strengths, and goals. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered. Together, we identify meaningful goals, increase self-awareness, strengthen communication, and develop practical strategies that foster lasting change. I draw from a variety of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed care, attachment-based interventions, solution-focused therapy, and EMDR-informed techniques when appropriate. I also emphasize the importance of self-care, emotional regulation, healthy relationships, and building on each client's existing strengths to promote resilience and overall well-being. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families across a variety of settings, including outpatient counseling, schools, homes, community-based programs, and private practice. My clinical experience includes helping individuals navigate trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, grief, life transitions, relationship concerns, family conflict, and stress-related challenges. I am passionate about helping clients develop the skills and confidence needed to manage life's difficulties while creating meaningful and fulfilling lives. For clients who desire it, I am also honored to thoughtfully integrate Christian faith and spirituality into the counseling process in a manner that respects each person's beliefs and values. Seeking counseling is a courageous step, and I consider it a privilege to walk alongside clients as they pursue healing, hope, and personal growth. I look forward to the opportunity to partner with you on your journey.
