Therapists for college students near Georgia State University
Are you feeling strangely absent from your own experience, as though you're moving through life on autopilot? I work with people who feel stuck, overwhelmed, exhausted, disconnected from themselves and others, or uncertain about the life they want to be living. Let's slow things down and take a look at what keeps you stuck, noticing what’s been happening on repeat and what shifts when you begin to respond differently. This work is about making more space for presence, connection, and intentional living. Your body holds the wisdom for healing, and my role is to support you in reconnecting with your innate capacity. Together, we expand your capacity to feel, access inner resources, and experience greater ease and connection. We work with what’s happening in your body in real time, supporting embodied shifts that align with who you are now. If this resonates, it often means something has been running in the background for a while without much space to look at it directly. Let's begin to bring that into view together. Reach out for a complimentary phone consultation to explore if working together feels like the right next step. I am currently working under the direction of Dr. Sophia Aguirre and supervision of Carrie Gensler, LPC, CPCS in pursuit of advanced licensure as an LPC. I am currently in the first year of a three-year Somatic Experiencing® (SE) training program and integrate SE principles into my work.

I am a registered dietitian that specializes in eating disorders and is very passionate about helping my clients find food freedom. Under directed experience and clinical supervision Do you sometimes feel disconnected from the people you care about, even when you want closeness? Are old patterns or coping strategies getting in the way of the relationships or life you are trying to build? I believe we are all wired for belonging, connection, and intimacy. When life experiences disrupt those instincts, it can leave us feeling guarded, uncertain, or stuck repeating habits that numb pain but create new problems. I work with teens, adults, and couples who want to rebuild trust in themselves and their relationships, especially when issues like addiction, trauma, or communication breakdowns have gotten in the way. I also have a strong passion for supporting men as they navigate identity, emotional expression, and connection in a world that often discourages vulnerability. In therapy, my role is to help make what feels unclear more understandable. I listen deeply, bring steady nonjudgmental presence, and help you look at both your strengths and your struggles without shame. While change is collaborative, I will walk alongside you with direct guidance, practical tools, and reflection that supports sustainable growth. My approach blends humanistic and person-centered foundations with CBT, DBT, narrative, and Gestalt techniques. Together, we can explore the stories and patterns that have shaped your relationships, process grief or trauma that may still weigh heavy, and build real-world skills for emotional regulation, confidence, and connection. Whether you are coping with depression, anxiety, addiction or substance use, relationship stress, or significant transitions, we will create a path forward that feels meaningful and achievable. It’s an honor to support people as they uncover more clarity, balance, and resilience. I offer a grounded, respectful space where you can reconnect with what matters most and take steps toward living and loving with more freedom and less fear. If you’re ready to explore whether we could be a good fit, I invite you to reach out for a free consultation.

I welcome you to be all of who you are, while helping you explore all that you can be. You may be wondering if you are capable of taking this step, and the answer is YES! It may take you out of your comfort zone, but you are not alone once you step outside of it. Sometimes we need additional support to reach our potential and navigate change, and it is my honor to be a helping hand in your life. * I am a Clinical Supervisor at the Georgia State University Counseling Center (GSU Counseling Center). I love working with clients who are open to utilizing mindfulness to help them to respond more effectively to difficult thoughts and feelings in order to live out their most important values and create the life they desire. I practice both ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy). I also enjoy working with clients who want to work through spiritual/religious concerns and or utilize their spirituality/faith to help them on their journey.
I believe everyone makes sense. In sessions, it is my goal to collaborate with my client to develop an understanding of their feelings, thoughts, and actions within the context of their past and who they are. I work to cultivate a safe space, staying curious with my clients and holding space for life's challenges. You have everything you need to heal and grow. It is my privilege to walk alongside you and provide support in your healing journey.
You've worked so hard to get where you are. Hours and hours in the library, in the gym, in the practice studio. You care about excellence. But all that pressure you put on yourself, wanting to be perfect and for everyone to love you? It's wearing you out. Stress, anxiety, constant thoughts zooming through your head. I'm glad you're here, and I hope I can help. I've been helping people just like you for almost two decades. People who have been super successful but also super stressed, anxious and sad. I am committed to treating the whole you, which means that an important step to feeling better is to look at all the parts of your life (physical health, relationships, work, self-care) and how those parts of your life are affecting how you feel and how you act. When you feel well emotionally, physically, and socially; your quality of life can genuinely improve. I hope to work with any of you who feel "stuck" in your lives; who are struggling with anxiety, stress, perfectionism, or body image. I have a particular specialization in working with athletes of all levels; professional, collegiate, and recreational. As a former collegiate volleyball and softball player, I understand that athletic performance incorporates so much more than physical training. I work with athletes who are struggling with anxiety, confidence, focus, or team dynamics. Additionally, I see athletes after they have experienced some major event in their athletic lives; such as acute and chronic injuries, pain, illness, or physical changes with aging. Athletes also struggle frequently with eating concerns and body image. Therapy is teamwork--we will develop a plan and goals that work for you to live your healthiest life!
I enjoy working with students age 25+ in advanced degree programs. I provide support with adjustments, transitions, stress, anxiety, grief/loss, intersecting identities, relationship concerns, feeling stuck, and personal growth. Life challenges can present opportunities for healing and growth. I strive to create a safe space for students to process their experiences and gain new perspectives on their situations. My style blends attentive listening with gentle inquiries designed to promote fresh insights. I have a holistic orientation and can help you integrate mind, body and spirit into the counseling process.
