Therapists for college students near 77005
Feeling torn between the stresses of college and personal relationships as a young woman? I empower motivated college students to navigate anxiety, women's issues, and life transitions so they can foster healthy connections and self-care, without sacrificing their ambitions. Hi, I'm Jacqueline, and If you’re reading this and you’re new to therapy, or you’ve done therapy in the past and are looking for a new outlook, I think I bring a unique perspective and set of tools and trainings based on my academic and professional background. I’ve been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2012. My first three years in college were spent at Texas Tech University, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology. After that, I went on to earn my master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling Psychology from UT Southwestern Medical Center. I was blessed to work at some pretty incredible places like UT Arlington, Children’s Medical Center in Dallas, and UT Southwestern’s Neuropsychology department before finding my way to private practice. Whether you're just down the street from my office at TCU, or you're across the state and want to see me virtually, then I'd love to help you. Feel free to set up a free 15 minute consultation for us to meet by emailing me or booking through my website.
With over 10 years of experience, I am here to help you with life’s challenges. I have experience with a variety of issues such depression, anxiety and trauma. I like to meet the client where they are in life. I work with the client to come up with their own personal goals and tailor my approach using various evidence-based styles to help them achieve them. I provide an open, safe, and compassionate environment that allows for self-exploration and discovery to gain perspective to help the client improve confidence with managing difficult issues. I offer free up to 15 minute phone consultation to answer any questions you may have about therapy in general and to discuss your specific needs.

I currently have immediate openings for teletherapy and I also offer walk-and-talk sessions at the San Jose Rose Garden. I am licensed in both California and Texas. I have more than ten years of experience working with adolescents and young adults. I most frequently help my college-aged clients navigate the challenges of anxiety, depression, ADHD, executive dysfunction, giftedness, self-esteem and body image issues, relationships, grief, disordered eating, and trauma. I specialize in, and especially enjoy working with, ADHD, gifted persons, and college-aged young adults. As a private practice clinician since 2012, I take an affective, strengths based, approach to therapy. I practice cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems therapy, trauma-informed care, dialectical behavioral therapy, and mindfulness. I work with individuals and families, and I facilitate an LGBTQ+ inclusive group for college-aged young women and non-binary persons. My style of therapy is centered, relaxed, and collaborative. It is vital to my practice that clients know they are talking to a real human being, and my client-therapist relationships are built on mutual trust and safety. I believe that mental healthcare should be holistic. To get at the whole person, I like to explore the interplay between movement, nutrition, sleep, and time spent in nature. And because mental health impacts so much of our lives, I often advocate for my clients and help coordinate support with other academic and healthcare professionals. I strongly believe that mental healthcare should be accessible and easy to navigate for everyone. I welcome clients from all communities, backgrounds, and walks of life. Outside of my home office, I am an avid hiker and eater of takeout. I’m learning to surf, and my favorite part of every day is spending time with my sixteen-year-old wiener dog.
My practice is characterized by a practical, solution-focused approach; rather than simply identifying obstacles, we collaborate to develop actionable strategies for overcoming them. I provide a secure, supportive environment where Christian values are integrated into the therapeutic process as we work toward your lasting peace and restoration.
Experiencing anxiety can feel overwhelming and you may find yourself avoiding people, places and things in an attempt to manage your symptoms. You may find that your world is getting smaller and smaller and may feel like you are in a constant cycle of anxiety and a mix of other painful emotions. I would like to help you change your relationship with anxiety. Through collaboration, you can learn skills to help you face and manage your anxiety symptoms, so that you can live the life that you want to live.
Clients that I see in my practice are frequently struggling with life transition, academic stress, family concerns, and issues in their interpersonal relationships, all while trying to succeed as students. I also work with many clients either diagnosed with ADHD (or suspecting that they have it) who are seeking support to improve functioning. My practice is also LGBTQ+ affirming and welcoming.
If you’ve been feeling like you’ve kind of lost yourself lately, you’re not alone—and you’re exactly who I love working with. A lot of the people I see are juggling school, expectations, relationships, and big life decisions, while quietly feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of who they really are. You might overthink everything, struggle to say no, or feel pressure to have it all figured out—even when you don’t. In our work together, you won’t get a stiff or overly clinical experience. I show up as a real person—warm, down-to-earth, and sometimes bringing in humor when it helps take the edge off. I’ll help you slow things down, make sense of what you’re feeling, and start trusting yourself more so you can feel grounded, confident, and more like you again.
Do you struggle with just being yourself these days? Well, kick off your shoes, relax, put up your feet, let's get real and talk. Many people see therapy as a never ending cycle of therapists sitting with a notepad repeating, "How does that make you feel?". I can assure therapy with me is never a cliche. I know how easy it is to feel alone and always asking why me. Some days it's easy to feel trapped looking for the fastest escape. Others you want to burst into tears or moments you feel like you're making all the wrong choices. I can understand if you need a break and want to scream. I'm here to help. Let's explore those issues you may be struggling with together and take back control of your life.

I am a clinical mental health therapist providing online tele-mental health services to teens, adults, and couples. I have experience with individuals suffering from trauma, PTSD, sexual abuse, self-harm, suicidal ideation, depression, anxiety, communication issues, relationship issues, parenting problems, substance abuse, codependency, anger, grief, and OCD. We believe what makes you different makes you wonderful, not wrong. Too many people spend their first therapy sessions teaching a well-meaning counselor the vocabulary of their own lives before they can even talk about what's actually going on. We started Love Let Out because everyone deserves a therapist who already speaks their language, and because we're committed to dismantling the systemic barriers that keep marginalized communities from getting care that actually fits them. We do this by building our practice around lived understanding, not just clinical training. Our clinicians come from the communities we serve, your life isn't theoretical to us. That means our approach is collaborative and culturally responsive from the first session: we're not assessing whether your relationship structure or identity is "the problem," we're helping you build a life and relationships that actually work for who you are. In practice, that looks like a team of licensed clinicians offering telehealth therapy across Texas, Oregon, and Washington, specializing in open/non-monogamous relationships and kink-affirming care, LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy, neurodivergence (ADHD/autism), and trauma and religious trauma recovery. We work with individuals, couples, and small groups/polycules, ages 15 and up.

You may be seeking therapy after a breakup, sudden loss, or overwhelming life experience — especially if you’re someone who is thoughtful, self-aware, and used to functioning at a high level. You understand your anxiety, trauma, or relationship patterns intellectually, yet when something triggers you, your body and emotions react in ways you can’t think you're way out of. Insight alone hasn’t brought the relief you expected. You need a different kind of support. I'll help you find change beyond talk therapy. We can work together in weekly sessions or extended EMDR intensives for accelerated healing-especially when weekly therapy feels too slow or life doesn’t allow for a long-term pace. EMDR helps the brain & body process what’s still “stuck,” so triggers lose their intensity and old patterns no longer run the show. If you’re ready to explore whether therapy with me or an EMDR intensive can help you feel real relief, schedule a free consultation call. I typically respond within 1 business day & we’ll start by talking through what you’re hoping for and whether this feels like a good fit. In-person sessions in East Dallas & online therapy in TX, FL, LA, and VA.
