Our practice specializes in working with challenges related to trauma and attachment, both in childhood and adulthood. This includes sexual/relationship violence, family of origin challenges (including ACOA issues), and childhood abuse and neglect. This also includes supporting young adults in understanding their own attachment patterns and gaining insight into their patterns in order to increase their ability to find, seek out, and maintain healthy relationships. We offer EMDR and many other trauma modalities.
I am a warm, affirming, non-judgmental psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience, and I work with an interactive, relational, humanistic, strengths-based, trauma-informed, and transparent approach. I believe that people have the innate capacity to heal and change. We will work together to develop a deeper understanding of your life goals and perspectives, so that we can custom-tailor techniques to make your life most meaningful for you. I exclusively offer tele-therapy (phone and zoom video sessions for individuals, couples/relationships and families). I support individuals and couples as they work through a range of challenges and life situations including: school-related stressors, anxiety, new and changing relationships, life transitions, explorations of identity, school/college life adjustment, illness, fertility treatments/ART, donor conceived individuals, adoption, parenting, care givers, communication issues. We all hope to be happy, feel fulfilled, be at peace and enjoy our days. We want to feel that our life has meaning and purpose and we strive for that in our relationships and other areas of life. We want to be free from chronic worry, negative thinking, disturbing emotions, painful memories, and behaviors and relationships that interfere with peace in the present moment and beyond. Suffering is a part of life--it is inevitable. Healing is about moving through and beyond suffering and limitation, transforming pain and suffering into personal power. Our focus will be to move fully into a happy and fulfilling life, whatever that might mean to you.

Do emotions hit you like a tidal wave, or are you often stuck between feeling like you’re “too much” or “not enough”? Maybe you’re struggling to understand who you are or feel numb and disconnected from the world around you. Despite your best attempts at supporting yourself, are you still feeling stuck, anxious, and lonely? I can help you move towards a more peaceful and fulfilling life. As a therapist, I aim to help you understand your emotional patterns, strengthen your relationships, and feel more anchored in yourself. I work best with people who are seeking a cohesive sense of self, especially those who experience intense emotions, identity challenges, and the impacts of trauma. Much of my clinical experience has been working with college aged individuals. I have an affinity for working with neurodivergent individuals and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. My primary orientation is psychodynamic therapy. I also utilize Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and hold advanced training in the Flash Technique. My clinical interests include codependency, C-PTSD, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, body image, and disordered eating. I am Poly/Kink affirming and my approach aligns with the principles of Health at Every Size (HAES). In our sessions, we will explore how early experiences and relationships have shaped how you see yourself and others. I believe that true healing happens in the context of a safe and authentic relationship with a shared sense of purpose. My approach is collaborative, open, and direct. Together we’ll create a space where you can learn to unmask, explore, grow, and connect with your true self.
I am a licensed psychologist in the state of Pennsylvania, and I completed my PhD in Counseling Psychology. Student who benefit most from therapy with me are interested in learning more about themselves--their close relationships, their goals (even if they feel uncertain or lacking), and their sense of self. Perhaps you are feeling depressed, anxious, or you're currently in substantial distress due to important changes or stressors in your life. Perhaps life is going well enough, but you simply feel empty, lack meaning, or you want more out of life. Adjusting to college can be challenging, whether it be (a) moving away from home, making friends, and adjusting to academics during your first year, (b) attempting to develop or maintain a social life, or "catching up" during the "Sophomore Slump", (c) choosing an academic major, or (d) completing a Sr thesis or figuring out what you want to do after graduation. These are all common reasons that bring students into counseling with me. Exploring one's developing or conflicted sense of racial, sexual, or gender identity are other common reasons students seek psychotherapy. I strive to create a therapeutic atmosphere that is safe, nonjudgmental, and nurturing.

I can help you recognize what is interfering with your daily life, relationships and overall well-being and adopt healthier belief systems. I am also especially passionate about helping couples recognize the "stuck points" in their communication patterns and replace them with with vulnerability, closeness, and connection. Primarily, I work with adults, couples, and teens/young adults. My passion is helping people gain insight and tools that foster personal growth and relief from their symptoms! I particularly value the mind-body-spirit connection and strive to work alongside my clients to achieve an individualized holistic treatment plan that promotes self-awareness and growth. Ready to start feeling better? Reach out! Starting therapy can be daunting - and you feeling like you are in the right hands is important to me. I offer free 15-minute phone consultations to see if we are a good fit together. Let's discuss your needs and questions. Whatever struggles you are facing, you do not need to face them alone!
When many people begin therapy, they don't know where to start. That is totally normal and no one I see needs to have all the answers right now. The people I work with often are going through a tough transition, experiencing stress at school, struggling with feelings of anxiety or depression, or they may have had something really distressing happen to them. Often, they may be noticing patterns of avoidance, procrastination, and self-shaming. Sometimes they're also experiencing stress in their relationships. Whatever is happening, I honor how challenging the process of reaching out for support can be, and I am here to help by working together with those who come to my practice. I specialize in attachment based EMDR therapy, which is incredibly useful for addressing distressing events (in the past or present); chronic stress, severe anxiety, and feeling like you are "stuck" on an issue that just doesn't seem to go away. It can also help resolve old wounds that are impacting current relationships. I'm here to help make the process of beginning therapy easier and help create a sense of safety by collaborating with you to address your needs. I also respect that paying for therapy can be complicated. To help, I offer a service where I can submit billing info to a service that files documentation with your insurance company for out-of-network reimbursements. If eligible, you may be able to receive a portion of your money back for therapy, making payment easier. I am also able to check to see if you're eligible for reimbursement. If you are a student in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or Florida, the next step is to email or call me today. I look forward to connecting!
