My private online therapy practice offers a space where you can genuinely explore your concerns, talk through difficulties, and work collaboratively to discover practical solutions. I'm passionate about helping people move forward, not just by understanding their problems, but by actively building the tools and strategies they need to thrive. My goal is to create a supportive environment where you feel truly heard and empowered to create positive change in your life.
Many of my clients are making exciting but often daunting transitions -- either from Jr High to High School, High School to College, or whatever comes next. Change is so often viewed with anxiety and negativity. Yet, change is happening all around us every day. How can we make change a positive experience in our lives? How can we choose to change something that is not working? How can we learn and grow from a challenging experience? As a counselor, I believe my job is to create a space where clients can explore these and other topics, in a way that ultimately positively impacts their day to day lives. I have 10+ years of professional experience working with adolescents and adults in outreach and community based organizations. I have a client centered, strengths-based approach to my work that integrates Positive Psychology and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I believe that it is critical that the client takes an active role in the counseling process. My clients face a range of life’s challenges: depression, anxiety, peer conflict, communication, transition to college/work, enhancing self-awareness, relationship/family dynamics (separation/divorce), grief, and autism or attention deficit/executive functioning challenges. I work primarily with young adults and their families, adults, parents and couples.

“It’s always best to believe in one’s self, but a little help from others can be a great blessing!” I view each person as the main character in their book of life. Each book contains stories of joy, sadness, exploration, struggle, and most importantly, HOPE. My goal to assist in exploring these stories, whether you encounter depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues, intersectional struggles, or self-esteem issues...I am especially sensitive to those impacted by LGBTQ issues, religious minorities, activists, uniformed public servants, and those experiencing depression. I utilize a multiculturally sensitive approach, borrowing from ACT, DBT, MBCT, mindfulness, narrative, and solution-focused therapies to develop a collaborative and eclectic style to treatment, tailored to your needs. Cultures all over the world have a common truth: life is suffering. Through therapy, I hope to create a safe and empowering environment to help you withstand and overcome that suffering. I welcome you to reach out to start this journey.
Relationships are both the most difficult and the most rewarding things about being human, and they are HARD! I believe very strongly in the power of relationships to heal as well as hurt. I help people look at the relationships in their lives and figure out how to move forward in a new way. I work with all types of relationships. My particular areas of interest include defiant teenagers, self-harm, couples therapy, mindfulness, and trauma work. When the most important relationships in our lives are strong, I believe that we can handle whatever problems life throws at us.

You've likely landed on my profile because you're looking for more support and realize that you can't do it alone. Perhaps you've put everyone's needs before yours. Maybe you've told yourself that you can keep putting your feelings to the side. We sometimes believe that we should be able to manage it all and do it on our own. Whether you're struggling with depression or anxiety, family transitions during pregnancy or postpartum, or just trying to have more effective, supportive, and fulfilling relationships, I'm here to help. You don't have to carry it alone anymore. My practice specializes in depression and anxiety. I have a particular interest in working with women during pregnancy and postpartum. I also enjoy helping people have more effective relationships with others, particularly their romantic partners and family. I primarily use dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and CBT to help clients reach their goals.
I work w/ adults 20 y.o. and up. I approach symptoms not as nuisances to be managed or reduced, but rather as signposts to be read. They point us to the deeper, meaningful issues that compel thoughtful reflection both in and outside the consulting room. We can look forward to exploring the patterns/themes that announce themselves in our work together, approaching all that we see w/ the respectful curiosity that sets the conditions for growth. I have experience working with adults struggling with mood disorders, anxiety, traumatic experiences, relationship difficulties, and the universal issue of learning to live in the face of loss. Since 1987 I’ve done psychotherapy in a variety of settings. Early on I worked in community mental health and then a rape crisis center. Later, I was a member of a large group private practice for over 25 years. My clinical orientation is psychodynamic with a strong relational orientation. My continuing education in psychodynamic approaches is ongoing. If you're interested in meeting, we'll first have a brief conversation on the phone so that I'll have a chance to tell you more about how my practice works and you'll have the opportunity to tell me more about your expectations or ask any questions you might have.
I believe in the inherent worth of everyone and that people genuinely do the best they can. We all experience joys and sorrows that can impact our daily functioning. Sometimes these experiences can make us feel "stuck," but we have the power to choose how we respond. Since learning never ends, we will discuss improving your self-awareness and build your "tool box" with strategies to empower you in everyday life. A caring atmosphere will be provided to help you discover your strengths, show yourself compassion, and to find balance in your life. I work with individuals from a variety of backgrounds, abilities, and ages. Together, we'll build a tool box, so that you're better able to deal with situations that may cause discomfort. An eclectic and solution-focused approach to counseling is used. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness approaches are used as well. As we work together, we'll discuss ways to help improve your quality of life. I enjoy helping adults dealing with mental health changes, students with disabilities, individuals struggling with transitional issues (e.g. new diagnoses, elderly parents, veganism), career counseling, grief, pet loss, and how nutrition impacts mental health. Hi! I am a Licensed Social Worker who works with clients experiencing a range of life circumstances that has brought them to therapy. Many of my client's are dealing with some baseline anxiety that is being accentuated by their current situation. Through therapy, we focus on coping strategies and understanding our emotions in order to help us live our most authentic and meaningful lives. Together we will explore how therapy can best help you and develop individual goals to best suit your needs. I want therapy to be a collaborative experience and welcome feedback throughout sessions. My clinical approach is tailored to each client’s needs. I strive to maintain a safe and judgment-free environment where clients feel they can be vulnerable while feeling supported. I enjoy working with neurodivergent clients as well as members of the LGBTQIA+ community. I focus on the individual’s strengths while maintaining a person-centered approach. Reaching out is often the hardest step! Please email me with any questions and we can begin this process together. You're already doing great.
College can be an exciting time of growth and possibility, and it can also bring uncertainty, pressure and questions about who you are and where you're headed. I work well with students who feel overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected from themselves or others, or are struggling to make sense of what they're experiencing. You may be going through a difficult transition, struggling in a relationship, questioning your sense of identity or purpose, or simply finding that life feels harder than you expected. As a doctoral-level psychologist-in-training, I believe therapy begins with a genuine relationship where you can feel safe enough to be yourself. My style is warm, collaborative, and curious. Together, we can slow things down, make sense of what you're going through, and explore patterns in your relationships and everyday life. My role is not to tell you who you are or who you should be, but to help you better understand yourself, reconnect with your strengths, and explore new possibilities. Therapy can be a place to work through difficult emotions, strengthen relationships, develop practical ways of coping, and explore what gives your life meaning. Whether you're facing a specific challenge or simply want to understand yourself more deeply, I'd be glad to walk alongside you.

I also integrate cognitive-behavioral and dialectical behavior strategies to help individuals build effective coping skills, manage distress, and navigate life’s challenges more confidently. Personally, I am a proud pet parent and enjoy spending time with my chosen family and friends.
