Are you caught in an unending cycle of feeling insufficient, regardless of your achievements or efforts? As you navigate various roles in your life – partner, friend, caregiver, parent/child, coworker, or manager do you constantly feel like you're falling short, despite your best efforts? Anxiety, depression, grief, burnout, and fear can be an overwhelming experience. You are “fine” and you’re waiting for that other shoe to drop. I specialize in helping adults struggling with trauma, grief, and life transitions by navigating intense emotions, finding peace, and rebuilding connections with themselves and others. As a multiracial therapist, I am deeply committed to supporting BIPOC individuals, particularly in addressing family of origin and ethnic identity/cultural concerns. I also enjoy working with military families. My approach is grounded in scientific principles, tailored to help you break free from a cycle that keeps you from the life you want. Whether stemming from past trauma, intricate learning histories, or the pressures of daily life, these challenges may make you feel like you're merely existing rather than truly living. If you're ready to move beyond survival mode and embrace a life that aligns with your true self, I'm here to support you every step of the way.

I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), an evidence based treatment for specific challenges like OCD, anxiety, panic attacks, phobias, and depression. This requires a collaborative and supportive process tailored to each individual. With the right treatment it is possible to see significant changes in symptoms so you can spend more time pursing what is most important to you. I am offering primarily telehealth based appointments within Oregon and in-person appointments within the Portland area as needed. Treatment is focused on creating behavioral changes, starting with areas where symptoms have had the most significant, and negative life-impacts. Focusing on one small change at a time can lead to greater freedom from symptoms, and more time spent actively pursuing what is most important in your life.

At Green Sheep, we believe in making therapy a space for creative experimentation, playfulness, and gratifying personal expansion. Practicing from an integrative feminist, strength-based, existential perspective, we affirm that every person is capable of utilizing and building upon their strengths and resources. I am particularly passionate about working with trans and LGB+ individuals, partners, and families, but am welcoming of all genders and all sexuality presentations. I work with teens, adults, pre-teens, partners/relationships, families, and groups. I work with a range of people, and enjoy working with those who have experienced family conflict or estrangement, dissociative disorders, anxiety, depression, body image issues, gender dysphoria, body dysmorphia, religious trauma, sexual trauma, medical trauma, or involvement in cults. As a counselor, I integrate various modalities into treatment based on client needs, including art therapy, relational cultural therapy, existential therapy, internal family systems, constructivist theories, and narrative therapy. Emphasizing parts work, my focus is on developing the inner healing intelligence that exists within each individual. Art therapy serves as a powerful tool in this journey, helping clients recognize, access, and connect with their inner healing intelligence through artistic expression. Whether you have prior art experience or not, art therapy is a tangible reminder of progress and aids in letting go of emotional burdens, facilitating positive and lasting change. We can decide together whether we might use art in our sessions together, and how it might be used. By learning new skills as well leaning on your inner healing intelligence, you can achieve deeper self-understanding, manage symptoms of anxiety, depression, and trauma, assert boundaries, and enhance self-image. Developing your authentic self becomes a powerful remedy for various emotional struggles, enabling a more balanced and fulfilling life. I am unable to accept insurance at this time, though I do help with billing out of network for those that have this option on their plan. You’re carrying generational trauma. You have been navigating trauma, family hardship and stress since your childhood/adolescence. I work dynamically and intuitively with a focus on mind body awareness. I combine my knowledge from natural medicine, energy healing, authentic relating, social justice work, ecofeminism, conscious philosophy, yoga, meditation, nonviolent communication, to serve in a holistic and transpersonal approach. I believe that we are all whole and complete. I believe learning is remembering. I believe that each person deserves to be seen, heard, held and loved. I have worked intimately with the concepts of being and belonging. I take into account systemic issues and intersectionality with every client I work with. Some of these populations include: LGBTQI+, BIPOC, Buddhist contemplative, kink/sex positive, body positive communities. I have also worked intimately with survivors of domestic abuse, those dealing with codependent tendencies, eating disorders, chronic illness/pain, developmental trauma and grief. Overall, I work best with those who are curious about being more in their bodies and are dedicated to the growth and learning process.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 years of experience working in mental health for non-profit agencies, the VA, and other organizations. Through my own experiences in the military, I experienced first-hand Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, anxiety, and depression. After leaving the Navy, I sought therapy to help process what I experienced. While completing my education, I worked at Veterans' Affairs, helping combat Veterans who experienced PTSD and other challenges, including drug and alcohol addiction. I bring this experience to working with you in processing trauma and other issues you may be experiencing. During our therapeutic sessions I primarily utilize CBT, DBT, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) but will also use other approaches as needed. I work from a client centered, integrative approach and believe in working collaboratively with clients to help them achieve their goals, improve coping, and reduce symptoms. Finding a path to live the life you want to lead is a goal of the work I do. I practice a resilience-based approach while working primarily with adults, veterans and their families in individual and couples counseling sessions. Hi, I'm Matthew. Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and finding the right person to work with matters. I believe therapy is a collaborative process where you can feel heard, understood, and supported without judgment. My goal is to create a welcoming space where you can slow down, explore what you're experiencing, and develop tools that help you move forward. I don't believe therapy is about "fixing" you. It's about creating space to understand yourself more deeply, strengthen your relationship with yourself and others, and move toward a life that feels more aligned with who you are and what matters to you.

Hi there, I’m Annie (she/her). I’m grateful you are here. Therapy can be a big step into the unknown but can also be an opportunity for growth and positive change. I believe human beings make meaning through connection and the relationships we hold. I approach therapy with a systemic perspective and carefully consider the many complexities that work together to form our whole selves. Some of these complexities could include cultural, environmental, or societal factors that may be contributing to barriers or overall challenges to daily functioning. I work collaboratively with you in honoring your story and how it informs your life, while also helping to highlight new stories and meaning-making. Therapy can provide a space for you to reflect upon and better understand the many parts of you.
