Hi, I am a LMHC and I graduated with my master’s degree from WCSU and I am also a certified personal trainer. I enjoy working with teenagers and adults from the ages 14 and up. I also like working with mothers and daughters whom have a strained relationship or just need some help with building their relationship back up. I specialize with issues like anxiety, depression, self-esteem:etc. I always knew I wanted to help other people from a young age. As a kid and teenager I struggled with shyness, self-esteem issues and depression. A lot of the time I felt like I was alone and felt like I was not heard. Since then my goal in life was to help others feel like they are not alone and they are heard no matter the issue. I also believe in treating the whole person. The body and mind are connected, therefore both should be treated. On top of being a therapist, I am also a personal trainer for the last 6 years. I use many different approaches including DBT, CBT, mindfulness techniques, art therapy and psychodynamic. I think every individual is unique, therefore there isn’t just a “one size fits all” approach. I like to speak to each client for a few minutes via phone to make sure that I am the right fit for them. Then I move on to scheduling the first session which consists of me asking questions and getting to know my client and their goals for treatment. I like to take a collaborative approach and allow my client to be the leader in what works and what doesn’t work for them in treatment. I want to help anyone who is willing to put in the work in and out of session. I like to have my clients set small goals in between sessions and review them the following session as a way of assisting in their healing process. I was taught to be kind because you never know what someone else is going through. This value has allowed me to be more empathetic and it allowed me to always be curious. From a young child I was always interested in different cultures. I make sure to take time to look at everyone’s perspectives and check my own judgements. I am constantly learning about different cultures to make sure others feel comfortable and welcomed when they come see me for therapy.
Are you feeling overwhelmed, sad or anxious? Have you ever felt that you couldn’t share your story with anyone because you feel that they just couldn’t possibly understand or that they would somehow judge you? We all have a story, and often we have to just push it aside just to get through our day until one day we realize that our story has taken over and is now interfering with our daily life. I will work to help you find the right tools to rewrite your story while in a calming nonjudgmental space. We will work towards empowering you to make those positive changes in your life, and together we will help you find your own courage and self-compassion to begin your journey to wellness. I often use an integrative approach which may include Neurofeedback together with traditional therapeutic approaches to provide a holistic experience. My clients typically include those who experience anxiety, depression and are recovering from trauma. As well as those issues common to college students.
I have over fifteen years of clinical experience in mental health and I am dedicated to helping individuals transform their lives through a cognitive behavioral structure, and to both pursue and achieve their personal and therapeutic goals. My approach is warm and friendly, and my communication style is direct but with compassion. I also think humor can be very healing. I strive to guide client’s toward solutions and to help them meet their goals. My priority with clients is to create a safe space by helping them feel heard and understood without judgment. If you're anxious, depressed or overwhelmed and living with painful emotions, therapy can help. Let me help you move to a place of understanding so you feel empowered to make new and different choices to improve your life and your relationships. I’m a Clinical Psychologist (board certified in Group Psychology), and I work with college and graduate students who want to understand themselves better and feel more at ease in their lives and relationships. In therapy, I offer a space to slow down, reflect, and make sense of what’s happening—whether it’s stress, anxiety, relationships, identity, motivation, or big transitions. My approach is psychoanalytic and relational, which means we pay attention not just to symptoms, but to the deeper patterns and experiences that shape how you think and feel.
I offer psychotherapy for students and working professionals who are struggling with their mental health, having relationship issues, or are experiencing setbacks in their day-to-day. My focus is on providing clinical support and symptom relief to individuals who may be struggling with emotional, existential, or behavioral issues in a safe, non-judgemental space.
