Are you feeling overwhelmed, sad or anxious? Have you ever felt that you couldn’t share your story with anyone because you feel that they just couldn’t possibly understand or that they would somehow judge you? We all have a story, and often we have to just push it aside just to get through our day until one day we realize that our story has taken over and is now interfering with our daily life. We will work towards empowering you to make those positive changes in your life, and together we will help you find your own courage and self-compassion to begin your journey to wellness. I often use an integrative approach which may include Neurofeedback together with traditional therapeutic approaches to provide a holistic experience. My clients typically include those who experience anxiety, depression and are recovering from trauma. As well as those issues common to college students.

Do you feel exhausted from trying to hold everything together? Maybe you have always been the responsible one or the person others rely on. You pushed through stress, anxiety, and family challenges because you felt like you had to. At first it seemed manageable, but now the pressure feels heavier and harder to carry. On the outside you appear confident and put together. Inside you might feel overwhelmed, burnt out, or worried that you cannot keep this up much longer. Wanting a break does not mean you are failing. It means you are human. I’m Sara, and I help students who are tired of perfectionism, constant pressure, and the weight of expectations. I work with people who want healthier relationships, better communication, and support as they process past experiences that still affect them today. My background includes ACT, CBT, TF-CBT, Brainspotting, and group therapy training, which allows me to tailor our work to what you need. In our sessions, you can expect a warm, honest, and real environment where you can finally let your guard down. I show up as myself so you can feel comfortable showing up as yourself too. You deserve a space where you can put down the pressure you have been carrying and focus on feeling grounded, supported, and hopeful. I am here to help you get there.
Life transitions can bring a mix of emotions - excitement, confusion, stress, and more. Between classes, relationships, identity shifts, and figuring out your future, it's a lot to take on. It is totally normal to experience all of the emotions at once, which can be difficult to understand and navigate. Opening up about what you are going through isn't always easy, but you don't have to do it alone. Whether you're looking for tools to manage stress or anxiety, make sense of tough emotions, or understand how your past is showing up in the present, therapy can help. Our work together will focus on what matters most to you. This is your space to be supported and heard.
College is a time of real growth — and real pressure. For many students, it's also when questions about identity, mental health, and how they move through the world come into sharper focus. I work with college students who are navigating anxiety, depression, burnout, identity exploration, trauma history, or the particular exhaustion that comes with being neurodivergent in demanding academic environments. Many of the young adults I work with are autistic, ADHD, or both — and are often doing so without the scaffolding that got them through high school. Others are transgender or gender-diverse, and are figuring out who they are while managing minority stress, family dynamics, and systems that don't always make things easy. My approach is relational and collaborative. I don't follow a rigid protocol — I draw from ACT, DBT, and CBT, and I tailor what we do to who you are and what you actually need. Sessions are a place to build insight, develop real skills, and figure out how to live more fully as yourself. I'm a licensed clinical psychologist with advanced training in gender-diverse care, trauma, and neurodevelopment. Before opening my practice, I spent two years at Yale's Pediatric Gender Program and completed my doctoral internship at Yale School of Medicine. I keep my caseload focused so I can do this work with the depth it deserves. Sessions are available via telehealth across Connecticut and New York, and in person in Southington, CT — which may be convenient for students at nearby colleges and universities. I also see adolescents and teens, so referrals for younger clients are welcome. I'm happy to connect with counseling center staff to discuss fit, coordination of care, or consultation. The best way to reach me is through my website or by phone.

I am inspired when I see college-age men and women who are searching for emotional, financial, and intellectual independence. College can be a challenging time of finding identity and intimacy and I assist by helping clarify college relationships. Having gone to college and raising four children, I understand many things about the stages of early adulthood. I offer a safe space to process different parts that may be confusing in order to safely integrate all facets of personality and enhance congruence, agency, and personal power, enabling young adults to grow up healthy, more swiftly than struggling on their own.
I have been in private practice for over thirty years in the same location. Over the years I have worked extensively with adolescents and young adults transitioning from high school to college. The services I have provided included both psychotherapy and evaluation services (i.e. ADHD, learning disabilities). I frequently provide ongoing support for clients who began with me in high school and successfully entered into college, but who want or need help addressing the unique challenges that college presents, and moving into post-college life.
I believe in creating a warm and welcoming environment, and that everyone deserves to be treated with respect and sensitivity, especially our children, adolescents, young adults & families. Assisting individuals to overcome life struggles and who have experienced abuse or trauma is one of my specialties. I have been working with children, adolescents, Individuals, and families who are struggling with anxiety, depression, relationships, life transitions, traumatic experiences, behavior issues and other emotional difficulties for over 19 years.
