Become The Way Psychotherapy is a collection of affiliated therapists with a diverse background of specialties. While each therapist has their specialty to contribute to our team, our team itself is broad enough to make sure that you find the right fit to address your concerns directly. Our mission is to make your treatment as direct a success as possible! Oftentimes, private practice can leave a provider in a backwater situation where they’re using outdated research and methods in a vacuum. When you work with one of our providers, you can trust that they’re keeping themselves sharp and competitive drawing upon more than 100 years of combined experience from within our team. We can offer a consultation call to help link you with the best first that's going to match you exactly with what you're looking for!
I help individuals and couples who are looking to improve their relationships and themselves. I am caring and compassionate and offer a good blend of support and feedback in my therapy.

Hello! I am Jacqueline Treml and I've been a psychotherapist in the community for over 25 years. Although I specialize in Anxiety, OCD & Phobias, I also practice EMDR for trauma, as well as offering support around the full spectrum of issues including identity, relationships, depression, and issues around grief & loss. I have seen many students over the years who are struggling with perfectionism, self-doubt, intense anxiety and depression, and who are working out difficult relationship dynamics with family, friends, and intimate partners. I hope that by coming to therapy with me, you are offered a warm and comforting environment where we can look together at issues without judgment. I will try to offer you perspective and what wisdom I've gained over the years to help your life at Cornell be what you'd like it to be. I look forward to hearing from you.
I believe that being in therapy is about creating space for positive change. When we can slow down and make room for ourselves, we can grow and create lasting adjustments that make our lives more balanced and enjoyable. I work collaboratively with clients, providing a safe and non-judgmental space to explore issues, problem solve, navigate life transitions, develop new and creative coping skills, and strengthen one’s relationship with themselves and with others. I specialize in helping with stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction recovery. I also work extensively with artists of all kinds who are experiencing creative blocks or stagnation in their art/creative practices and life. Art therapy is a form of psychotherapy that uses art materials and the creative process to help people express, process, and integrate their thoughts, feelings, and emotions. Art therapy is for everyone, not just people who identify as artists or have experience with the visual arts. Clients see me for talk therapy and or art therapy. All sessions are tailored to the preferences and goals of my clients. My approach is holistic and person-center, integrating traditional talk therapies and art therapy with mindfulness/body-based practices. I am a patient and compassionate therapist, who values humor and direct communication, dedicated to supporting my clients in their healing process and personal growth, enacting the changes they desire to see within themselves.

I know that college can be a difficult time with managing life, social stressors and balancing classes. If you’re struggling with anxiety due to unprocessed life challenges, trauma or just struggling with the everyday stress I am here to help.
College can be an amazing time full of new experiences, but let’s be real—it can also feel stressful and overwhelming. I love working with young adults who are figuring out the ups and downs of campus life. Whether you're dealing with roommate drama, trying to balance work and fun, or adjusting to being more independent, sometimes it helps to talk to someone who gets it and can help you work through the tough stuff. If this sounds like something you’d find helpful, feel free to reach out—I’d love to connect and support you through this exciting but challenging time.
Those who seek my services are often looking to quiet their anxious minds, set boundaries in their relationships, and feel more confident on their life path. Trying to balance personal relationships with career/school, all while trying to convince everyone that you're in control and that you know what you're doing is exhausting. Life doesn't have to feel this hard! Our work together will involve identifying and removing barriers to your ideal life. Often that means learning to quiet the anxious voice inside your mind, shifting perspective, and unlearning the behaviors which have kept you stuck for so long. There’s no “one-size-fits-all” strategy. That is why I take the time to get to know you, see issues through your perspective, and create an individualized plan to help you reach your goals.
The path to wellness is sacred. I feel it is a privilege to help people on their journey to whole-hearted living. I employ holistic modalities such as Reiki, mindfulness, meditation, connecting with your spirit for guidance and exploring different aspects of wellness to help people achieve their goals and live joyous lives. I have worked as a social worker for the past 11 years in Oswego County, serving children, adolescents, adults and families in a variety of human service and clinical settings. I am trained in numerous trauma focused therapies such as trauma focused CBT and EMDR. I incorporate numerous therapeutic models and interventions in order to help people reach their wellness goals. I believe in meeting people where they are at and helping them to build on their inherent strengths. In 2016 I began my training in Reiki and am now a Karuna Holy Fire III Reiki Master and Teacher. In my practice I offer individualized psychotherapy services, Reiki sessions, Reiki classes, a variety of wellness groups and workshops. I am a member of the CNY Reiki Association as well as the International Center for Reiki Training.
