Are you feeling overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected, or drained? Do you feel like no one understands what you have gone through/are going through? Or do you find that you keep your feelings and personal experiences to yourself so you’re not a burden to others? You are not alone. It is not uncommon to feel disconnected and lonely, especially in this day and age. My name is Patricia Sibiga and I am a graduate student at CUNY Hunter studying Mental Health Counseling. My goal is to work together to talk through feelings of dissatisfaction and having a space where you feel safe, comfortable, and heard. Being vulnerable about your feelings and experiences can feel really scary and hard to do, especially if you have experienced being shut down when trying to in the past. Holding onto difficult feelings on your own can start to feel like a weight on your shoulders that continues to get heavier without an end in sight. Starting therapy can help to release that weight and strengthen your resilience to life’s inevitable encounters. My ambition as a therapist-in-training is to create a space where you are able to discuss these feelings and experiences without feeling shut down and unheard. You deserve to have a space in your life to discuss these topics in a non-judgmental, uplifting environment! My practice is rooted in psychodynamic, CBT, and mindfulness based approaches with a sprinkle of somatic therapy. With these theoretical approaches, we can work together to learn how current and past experiences are impacting your day-to-day, to practice grounding and mindfulness, and discover healthy cognitive behaviors and coping skills that may help with psychological distress. Patricia Sibiga is a therapist-in-training at Sol Health. Sol Health is a digital health startup that offers $30 therapy to Gen Zs by connecting them with therapist-in-training accruing clinical hours.

Licensed Mental Health Counselor
The Bronx, NY

Hey everyone! I'm excited to connect with you. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in NY. I possess certifications in Advanced Grief Counseling, Trauma Treatment and Telemental Health. I specialize in assisting individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, and grief/loss. I have experience working with BIPOC clients who struggled with maintaining a college/work-life balance while dealing with a variety of social, environmental, and race-based stressors. Stress is a common issue that I hear about in therapy, but I understand that each individual experiences it differently. Some may not even see it as a problem, viewing it instead as something they've been taught to endure due to family or cultural expectations. Stress can manifest in various ways, such as difficulty making decisions, problems concentrating, feelings of anger, anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, headaches, and gastrointestinal issues. My goal is to create a safe and accepting space where we can explore and address the stress that weighs us down and work together to develop effective coping strategies and a wellness plan. I believe that our work together should always be centered around you. It’s all about teamwork and tapping into your strengths. Think of our journey as a partnership. I’m here to offer support and tools, but you’re the one in control, guiding your own path to personal growth. Just like how an architect helps design a building but doesn't do all the hard work themselves, I won’t solve your problems for you. Instead, I want to empower you to create your own blueprint for success. Together, we’ll build a solid foundation so you can confidently tackle whatever challenges come your way.

Are you highly attuned to others, having been told you're "too sensitive"? Do you struggle with setting boundaries, people-pleasing or burning out from perfectionism and a constantly full calendar? It can be exhausting to balance the weight of being highly sensitive while also meeting the standards set by us, our families, and communities. These behaviors are often connected to earlier relationships, such as family dynamics that can shape how we interact with others later in life. Therapy is a space to help you explore how past relationships shape your present, empowering you to respond to stress in ways that honor your needs. I'm an LCSW with 7+ years of experience working with members of the queer community, neurodiverse individuals, and those managing chronic mental health and medical conditions. I’ve spent my career supporting individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, and complex family dynamics. We'll collaborate together to identify and work towards goals that will help you take ownership over your life and build the reality you want to see. Whether it's setting boundaries with parents, letting go of perfectionism, or beginning a challenging career endeavor- I’m here to listen and support you with warmth, curiosity, silliness, and honesty. I'm a queer, Jewish therapist who has experience working with queer Jewish community ranging from those who identify as secular to Orthodox. Navigating queerness from a religious framework has its own unique challenges. Regardless of your background, we'll work together to explore your identity and how that interacts with the world around you.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience working in a private practice setting. I received my doctorate in clinical psychology from the State University of New York at Albany and completed an APA approved internship at the Medical University of South Carolina. My training emphasized a CBT orientation to treating psychological disorders. After completing my education, I was a member of the doctoral faculty in clinical psychology at Fairleigh Dickinson University for almost 30 years before electing to go into private practice full time in July 2020. My experience working at a university as both a professor and program director, has helped me understand the difficulties that students face. Moreover, it has given me insider knowledge about how students can most effectively navigate the challenges that college poses and effectively advocate for themselves with their course instructors. Recently, a colleague and I formed a CBT-based private practice focused on adolescents, young adults and adults. My areas of specialization include OCD, panic and other anxiety disorders, depression and other mood disorders, substance abuse, and body-focused repetitive behaviors (e.g. hair pulling). I conduct a comprehensive evaluation and provide all the treatment directly. Treatment is tailored to the individual needs of the client, but it typically involves a combination of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). I am committed to providing the best treatment available to my clients, which may involve (at their request) a referral for psychiatric consultation, inclusion of family members, and home visits. Please visit my website at http://cbtspecialistsnj.com for more information about me and the problems I treat.
