Firstly, I want to say I am glad you are here! My name is Olivia and I am currently a second-year Master’s student at Montclair State University. I previously got my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology which opened my eyes to the importance of mental health. As your therapist-in-training, I am committed to providing a compassionate and non-judgmental space where you can feel safe to express yourself, emotions, and inner thoughts. Vulnerability can be scary, which is why it is important that we work at a pace that is best for you. I take an empathetic approach, actively listening to your current experiences and struggles, while creating plans that would be most effective for your individual needs and goals. Our sessions together will be focused around techniques and tools that would be useful for your overall growth, including using a strengths based approach, emotional regulation techniques, incorporating healthy coping mechanisms, cognitive behavioral therapy, and psychoeducation. It is my role as your therapist, to help guide and support you in your journey towards healing and self-discovery. I look forward to working with you! Olivia Kanestrin is a therapist-in-training at Sol Health. Sol Health is a digital health startup that offers $30 therapy to Gen Zs by connecting them with a therapist-in-training accruing clinical hours.

Kelsey is a master of social work who works primarily with young adults experiencing life changes, relationships issues, grief, trauma, and depression and anxiety. She has a particular passion for helping people improve their self-understanding to strengthen platonic and romantic relationships, increase self-compassion, and to identify personal values and learn to live by them. Kelsey incorporates elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, but makes sure to tailor her sessions to the individual first and foremost. Before becoming a therapist, Kelsey had a career in advertising and marketing working for consumer brands and tech companies. Having experienced these worlds first-hand, Kelsey is uniquely equipped to understand and empathize with many of the challenges her clients face day-to-day — things like burnout, navigating office dynamics, and the identity struggle that comes with learning who you are as an adult while maintaining a demanding career. Kelsey seeks to create a safe and welcoming experience for her clients. She knows how to address immediate stressors and concerns, while keeping long-term healing goals at the forefront. She is welcoming of people of all identities and backgrounds, inclusive of the LGBTQIA+ community.

I work with students who feel like life is moving too fast and expectations are piling up. Maybe you’re stressed about classes, friendships, or future plans, or just feeling unsure of yourself. Therapy is a place to slow down, be heard, and figure out what really matters to you. The people I work with often struggle with stress, self-doubt, or adjusting to big life changes. Together, we explore ways to handle pressure, build confidence, and find balance in your academic and personal life. Sessions are a safe, supportive space to explore your thoughts and feelings. You’ll leave with practical strategies and a clearer sense of your own goals and values, so you can navigate college life with more confidence and calm.

My ideal clients are students who have a tremendous reservoir of resources in managing their school-work life balance, despite having experienced a traumatic incident in their life. These students are often those who have experienced a sexual assault and noticed that it has made it difficult for them to stay on top of their workload, connect with others, and more. Other students I enjoy working with are those who are explored their identity in terms of sexual orientation, intimate relationships, and gender identity. These types of students are often very insightful and want to share their thoughts on a safe and non-judgmental atmosphere.

Pursuing our goals by obtaining a higher education can be exciting and challenging. Many of us experience challenges with anxiety, stress, perfectionism, life transitions, depression, a sense of identity, sexual orientation and relationships. I also help people from all walks of life, socioeconomic backgrounds, ethnicities, spiritual beliefs and ages. In addition to supportive and psychodynamic approaches, I work with specific trauma treatments. I help people who have experienced trauma involving relationships and abuse. I provide treatment for different types of dissociation. I look forward to see how I can be of help!

Weaving through life can be so many things. It can be joyful, exciting, stressful, overwhelming, really whatever word we want to place to describe it. At some points in time it can be incredibly difficult. Everyone has their own unique experiences in life, struggles and obstacles are part of it. It can be overwhelming at times. Learning how to navigate through the more difficult times can be challenging but ultimately rewarding. Our work together will empower you to look within yourself, build acceptance, and better your relationship with yourself and with others. Therapy can be an uncomfortable and intimidating experience but it can also be very healing. I strive to make sure you feel accepted, heard, and validated in your experiences. When you are ready, give me a call to schedule our first session and we can embark on this journey together. Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in NY with over 7 years of experience in the field. I specialize in ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma, and PTSD. I have worked with youth and adults in my community in both clinical and academic settings, and especially enjoy working with college students and faculty. I am a proud LGBTQIA+ ally, and I am committed to anti-racism and understanding the unique struggles at the intersections of race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, and mental health. I use a mix of CBT, DBT, positive psychology, and mindfulness techniques. My person-centered therapeutic style focuses on acceptance and relationship building. I am a calm and empathetic listener, and do my best to be positive and upbeat when appropriate. I work well with those who are seeking change and willing to explore their diagnoses and how their symptoms are impacting their life. This way, we can collaboratively develop a treatment plan, build new skills, and evaluate your progress together. In our first session, we’ll discuss your current symptoms, concerns, and history. This will help us develop an initial plan for treatment, which we’ll collaborate on moving forward. Helping others with their mental health is my life’s passion, and I encourage you to reach out if you think we might be a good fit. I am part of the Path referral network, which means that when you reach out, my team will get back to you quickly to schedule our first session. I am committed to making therapy affordable. Through Path, I am in-network for most commercial insurances, so you're only responsible for your co-pay!
