Welcome! I have experience working with people of all ages who have found themselves faced with anxiety, depression, traumatic experiences, life transition and stress, parenting challenges, social and relationship issues, and feeling stuck in general. My approach is highly relational, warm, supportive and sprinkled with humor when appropriate. Our initial sessions will focus on building trust and using collaboration and curiosity as we develop a plan to address your concerns. I firmly believe that we all have inherent resources and strengths within us that can be tapped into to support the process of healing and growth. For the past 17 years I have worked in a variety of settings including trauma-focused outpatient therapy, therapeutic schools, residential, and foster care and adoptions. I use a holistic mind-body approach informed by Attachment Theory, Sensorimotor Therapies, EMDR, Internal Family Systems, DBT, CBT, and Collaborative Problem Solving. The decision to seek the support of therapy for yourself or a loved one is not a light one and at times can feel overwhelming. I have a deep appreciation of the courage it takes to reach out during a time of vulnerability and welcome the chance to speak with you about your needs.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a deep passion for working with young adults. I believe the early adult years are some of the most important—and often most misunderstood—seasons of life. Rather than something to simply “get through,” I view this stage as a powerful period of identity formation, growth, and possibility. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. After spending a year living abroad, I went on to receive her Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Northeastern University. Throughout my graduate training and post-master’s clinical work, I have supported youth and families across a range of settings, including in-home therapy, group home care, outpatient clinics, and municipal mental health. I understand that young adulthood can feel overwhelming—whether it’s anxiety, relationships, school, or simply trying to figure things out. Therapy with me is a place to slow things down and make sense of what’s going on. Sessions feel like a real conversation, where clients can explore their experiences, connect patterns, and develop strategies that are actually useful in everyday life. My goal is to create a space where clients feel comfortable, understood, and supported as they navigate this stage.

I am a psychotherapist in private practice in Manhattan. After finishing a Masters of Social Work at the University of Pennsylvania, I completed a four year post-graduate program at the William Alanson White Institute, a psychoanalytic institute in New York City. In my practice, I work with people who are experiencing a variety of concerns, including depression, anxiety and relationship difficulties. I also work with individuals who are interested in improving their understanding of themselves or an aspect of their lives, or who want to be better able to make choices that lead to a sense of fulfillment. My goal is to provide a warm and collaborative relationship in which these topics can be explored. I believe that a successful therapeutic relationship is based on trust and can help bring about growth and change. I offer clinical supervision to psychotherapists in private practice and as part of the William Alanson White Institute's Intensive Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Training Program. I am also an Associate Editor for the academic journal Contemporary Psychoanalysis.

My approach as a therapist is integrative, relationship-oriented, and social-justice informed. I work with folks who are yearning for deeper connection to others or themselves. We all long for connection, while also fearing it. I encourage my clients to bring all parts of themselves into our work together. Come as you are! I believe in the folks I work with, and I believe in the transformative power of relationships, community, and connection to heal. To schedule a free, no-obligation 15-minute phone consultation, please contact me via email (dralvarezcounseling@protonmail.com) or phone (305-699-2024). If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply not like yourself lately, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to figure it out on your own. I’m a nurse practitioner with over 20 years of experience in healthcare, and I believe the best care happens when we work together. As a dual board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner, I look at your mental and physical health as parts of the same, connected story—not separate issues. In our work together, you can expect a compassionate, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where you feel truly heard. I take a holistic and individualized approach, helping you understand what’s behind your symptoms, explore treatment options in clear, practical terms, and build strategies that fit your life and goals. I’ve supported people from late adolescence through older adulthood as they navigate life’s transitions. I have worked with young adults facing career transitions and the stress that often comes with major life changes. I also help individuals manage depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, and mood disorders. Whether you’re continuing a treatment plan that’s already helping or seeking psychiatric care for the first time, I’ll meet you where you are. My goal is to help you feel respected, understood, and empowered to take an active role in your care.

I am a clinical psychologist who specializes in adolescence and young adulthood. I completed a fellowship at Mclean Hospital in Adolescent Mental Health. I was previously a psychologist at Mclean Hospital's Klarman Eating Disorders Center where I specialized in the care of individuals struggling with eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and associated concerns. I enjoy working collaboratively with a client, couple, or family to understand how someone's struggles relate to their larger goals, hopes, and motivations and how to work to understand their experiences together and move closer to those goals. I use approaches to therapy that focus on understanding the role and functions of emotions and behaviors, understanding someone's experience in the context of relationships, and utilizing strengths and competencies in the therapy process. In addition to individual therapy, I have a passion for working with couples, families, and in relationship based therapies. I also provide parent consultation for parents supporting their child or adult child through an eating disorder. Please reach out if you have any questions and would like to schedule a complementary initial phone consultation.

You’ve learned how to hold it all together. From the outside, you might look like you have everything in place but inside, you feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or exhausted from always showing up for everyone else. Maybe you’ve spent years pushing your feelings down, keeping the peace, or taking responsibility for things that were never fully yours. And now, your body is telling you something needs to change. I work with hard-working women who are ready reconnect with themselves in a deeper, more meaningful way. Together, we'll slow down the present, process the past, and find your power in the future. My style is warm, down-to-earth, and approachable. I believe therapy should feel human, meaningful, and supportive. If you’re ready to create space for yourself and start feeling more like you again, I’d love to connect. Reach out to schedule a free consultation so we can talk through what you’re looking for and see if this feels like the right fit.

I am Counseling psychologist, and I've worked in college mental health for the last five years, first as a therapist at Syracuse University's counseling center, then at Rhode Island School of Design's counseling center. I both provided therapy, and helped train others to provide therapy. I love working with students and helping them adjust to being at a university, figuring out how to cope with the demands of college, and find their way in the university system to make sure that they have access to not just tools for their mental health- but access to academic supports, financial assistance, and resources to help them work with their faculty members. I'm a generalist- I work with people across a wide range of issues and identities, and so I really try to tailor what I'm doing to fit what YOU need. I also have specialised training in LGBTQ+ mental health and treatment for Trauma. I believe that we are whole people, and our identities, culture, and access to resources are important to understand, respond to and support in therapy. I both work to help you understand your experience so you can respond in new and creative ways, and also know and use pragmatic strategy-based approaches that give you concrete ideas how to take the next step. If that sounds like a fit for you, reach out and I'm happy to speak more!
