Effective therapy creates meaningful, lasting, joyful change. As your therapist I can help you resolve the inner and outer conflicts that create pain and exhaustion. Life brings unchosen experiences. Sometimes we feel hurt, scared, or deeply alone. Sometimes what happens seems too big to manage. For 25+ years I have had the privilege of helping people learn to live as their "best self," able to manage their moods, thoughts and situations with compassion and skill, to make changes to reach their goals, and to find happiness. I lived and worked in Africa for 6 years, and have helped people from many cultures find their joy. My specialty is helping people understand their unique "recipe" of biology, upbringing, relationships, and current situations, and how they might work with their "ingredients" to create immediate and long-lasting positive change. My approach is practical. I integrate psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral therapies, internal and strategic family systems, EMDR and other trauma-informed approaches, and mindfulness-based stress management. Depression, anxiety, loneliness, frustration, pulls towards behaviors that lead to pain...whatever is interfering with your well-being is worth changing. Together we can produce change. Please EMAIL
I believe that therapy should be a space where you don't have to perform, explain, or minimize your feelings, no matter your reason for reaching out. As a trauma-informed, culturally responsive, BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist, I welcome clients with diverse identities and concerns, and strive to create a safe, compassionate environment where you feel truly seen, heard, and understood. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, or trauma/complex PTSD, including survivors of assault/abuse. I also support clients navigating life transitions, identity-related challenges, relationship concerns, emotional dysregulation, stress, burnout, low self-esteem, and academic/workplace challenges. Since there's no one-size-fits-all in healing, our work together will be tailored to your unique needs and a pace that feels safe, supportive, and sustainable for you. This can include processing difficult experiences, building insight, developing practical coping strategies, and fostering self-compassion, resilience, and a stronger sense of self. As a Harvard-trained researcher, my therapeutic approach is grounded in evidence-based care, integrating cognitive behavioral, dialectical, somatic, psychodynamic, and narrative interventions to help you create lasting, meaningful change. I look forward to supporting you in your journey towards a life that feels more grounded, fulfilling, and authentic.

People come to see me when they feel stuck and have had enough. Managing OCD, anxiety, and/or depression on top of the demands of work, school, social responsibilities, family responsibilities, or even leisure time is exhausting. It takes so much time and energy to deal with anxiety and takes you away from the things you care about. You deserve to feel better and do more than just try to get through your day. I strive to create a safe and comfortable environment and work collaboratively with you in an empathic manner using evidence-based treatment, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (or exposure and response prevention for OCD). Finding a therapist who fits what you are looking for can be a challenging experience. I admire your bravery in taking this first step. If you have questions about my practice, background, or approach we can set up a call to discuss if it would be a good fit.
