I am a clinical psychologist with 15 years’ experience working with clients in a variety of settings and presenting with a wide range of diagnoses and concerns including depression, anxiety, eating disorders, substance abuse, workplace issues, relationship issues, perinatal mood disorders, parent child attachment difficulties, and parenting challenges. I have worked with children, adolescents, college students and adults. one of my practice areas focuses on providing therapy to college and graduate students. While this can be an exciting and inspiring time, there are many factors (identity issues, social anxiety, academic pressures, relationship problems, ect) that can also make it a challenging time to navigate. I use my clinical experience in college settings and in private practice to help college students process feelings and develop coping skills so they can feel more competent and confident. My years of experience has taught me that the fit between a therapist and the client is a significant factor in whether a client feels their therapy is helpful. I use my intuition to tailor my therapeutic approach to each individual client so that we both feel that we are moving forward in a way that feels supportive and productive.
Accepting New clients for tele-health sessions only Born and raised in Boston the owner has intimate knowledge of the city and the challenges people living in the city can face. Beyond that the owner recognized the benefit of working with a therapist that looks and has shared experiences with the client. Boston offers a unique population of families, working professionals, immigrants, and college students from both in and out of state. Each therapist on this team fits in one or more of those categories ensuring their ability to understand where you are coming from and where you want to go. It is out of that philosophy that Through The Forest Counseling was created. We know that for clients to get the most out of each session, they should first feel comfortable not just with the therapist, but also with the surroundings. This plays a significant role in their overall improvement. Let us guide you to your destination of a healthier, happier life.

I am experienced in working with adults that are dealing with anxiety, low self-esteem, interpersonal relationship issues, and life transitional stress. I believe that everyone has the strength to dig deeper into their psyche and understand themselves better. I recognize how different environmental factors can induce feelings of loneliness, and I can help provide a space that feels open, non-judgmental, and safe for all kinds of expression. My approach to therapy is relational, collaborative, and goal-oriented. I integrate various behavioral and mindfulness based interventions in my practice, tailoring my style to best meet my clients’ needs. Through humor and introspective conversations, I believe in building a genuine connection that propels healing and growth. As an immigrant and a woman of color, I recognize that mental health stigma can limit asking for help. Accepting new patients.....It is through therapy that we come to understand how our experiences make our lives meaningful. Choosing a therapist isn't an easy task; I hope sharing my perspective helps. Over the last decade I have worked at universities, elementary schools, rehabilitation centers and group homes with children and adults from 7-70. These experiences have shown me that the right environment activates our innate capacity to mature and thrive. Therapy is not about "fixing" someone, it's about creating a space that supports growth. My approach embraces the power of personality to facilitate change. Through active listening, I acknowledge the impact of personal experiences and encourage exploration. Like exercising - regular, creative dialogue yields new strengths and abilities. In this way, individuals find their own solutions that are often more personalized than CBT. As you search for a therapist, consider me - I think you'll find me accessible, pragmatic, and insightful.

Are you looking for a neutral person to lend an open ear? A box of tissues? A high-five? Or some sound advice? Therapy can provide you all of those things and lead to a transformation in your life. I have seen it first hand in my work with individuals and families. They initially feel very overwhelmed and hopeless. Once we establish a relationship, push through the resistance to change and the "hard stuff"; new chapters quickly start to write themselves. This is the most rewarding part of my career, helping others see their true potential.
Seeking therapy and finding the right therapist can be difficult and daunting. My initial goal when meeting with new clients is to create a comfortable and safe environment. Wherever you are in your pursuit of receiving help is where I accept you and begin our work together. Wherever you are is a good place to start. The practice I opened with close colleagues is called Elysium Counseling LLC. “Elysium” by definition is a place of ideal happiness or a peaceful state of mind. While that may feel unrealistic to obtain by some, we help our clients grow to believe they can achieve just that. I want my clients to know that change is possible, that they have unique skills and abilities, and are worthy and capable of creating a life they want to live. Part of that process invites clients to be challenged in new ways, even if it’s hard. I value and prioritize relationships with my clients, as I believe a strong therapeutic alliance is the main contributor to successful treatment outcomes. Life is complicated. It’s my job to help clients navigate all that comes with it as best they can.
