Greetings! I am a generalist trained counseling psychologist with several years of experience working with college students. This includes specialized training in working with student-athletes and teams. Older adolescents and young adults are ideal clients, though I have experience working with folks of all ages. My main areas of experience and interest include relational concerns, identity exploration, mood disorders, and trauma.
In session we’ll work together with the understanding that you are the expert on yourself and my role is to support your growth. The therapeutic relationship is the vehicle for change, and I foster a trusting and brave space for self-exploration and understanding. As a counseling psychologist, I trust that clients possess internal resources to help them navigate challenging experiences. Thus, part of our work together is to nurture and develop those resources so that they can be confidently implemented. My practice features interpersonal and feminist orientations to examine relational dynamics and patterns. Through these frameworks I consider how the impact of societal systems affects clients’ identities, current experiences, world views, and the therapeutic relationship. Therapy can provide a trustworthy and reflective space to understand ourselves differently, process interpersonal dynamics, and explore the impact of systems on our individual and collective experiences.
